It’s closer to ross, at least in my accent. The pronunciation of Rós (as it’s originally spelled in Alparós) is actually pretty close to the [name_f]English[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], but when it’s at the end of a word or name most Icelandic people will pronounce it more like “ross”. If we speak slowly though, it will sound like the [name_f]English[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

@minxtruck for me it’s strongly associated but that’s only because allegra as a medication makes me severely ill and so is a pretty strong not great association. however, before i discovered i can’t take the medication, i didn’t associate the name with it very strongly. i know a couple of allegras, and i still like their name. it’s not a Big Problem, just a thing for me personally.
