It used to be one of my favorites, I don’t love it as much now but I still think it’s very cute! Also like the spelling [name_u]Bo[/name_u]
It was incredibly close, but Edmund just barely defeated Henry! (I find it kind of funny that Edmund won as the name since I think most Austen finds like Edmund Bertram the least of her male leads.)
I love the name Edmund, and I love seeing how much appreciation he has been getting here on NB! He deserves it.
Thanks for participating, Berries! It’s been fun. Elinor & Edmund are officially crowned Queen and King of Jane Austen names.
- It’s all or none. The fourth should end in -a, too.
- Not ideal, but if you really love the names…
- No big deal!

prn muh-collie and muh rill uh
Out of the two I prefer [name_m]Macauley[/name_m] Rosefinch but don’t love either of them, I instinctively prn [name_f]Marilla[/name_f] as [name_u]Maria[/name_u] and I thought [name_u]Maria[/name_u] Rosefinch was pretty though

ooh maria is pretty!
Same about pronunciation, I had to ask for clarification yesterday.
That’s interesting! I never considered that as a possible mispronunciation. Weirdly I kind of like it, though.
What is the perfect nerdy female name for someone who is smart, intelligent, down to earth, optimistic, honest, creative, nice, friendly, sensible, levelheaded, nerdy, sassy, feisty, organized, analytical, imaginative, and is socially awkward though she can be sometimes neurotic, worrisome, anxious, cynical, sarcastic at times.usually serves as the smart one of the group who would sometimes tells the group what to do in a situation; she is a voice of reason to the group to keep them grounded and to act reasonably.

Do you think it’ll be hard to enforce the full name Eliza over the nickname Liz?
- Yes, it’ll be hard to enforce Eliza because Liz is such a natural shortening for any Elizabeth variants
- No, you can easily enforce Eliza, but your daughter may one day choose to go by Liz someday and you have to accept that risk

I love seeing [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for a boy! I have [name_m]Prospero[/name_m] [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as #3 boy (though I’m thinking of changing Maximilian…)
It may be regional, but of the many Elizabeth’s I’ve taught none have gone by [name_f]Liz[/name_f] — some by [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], but most by [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in full.
@leafygreens Yes I adore [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and other [name_f]Rose[/name_f]— names on boys It’s so handsome to me!
