I think [name_f]Liz[/name_f] is a nickname that comparatively older people tend to use, rather than one that would be naturally given to a child. [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] maybe would be, but I think it would be easy to correct either way.

[name_f]My[/name_f] best friend is an [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] that I’ve known since we were 3, and she’s never been called [name_f]Liz[/name_f], even forcibly, as far as I know. The only thing she’s ever been called is [name_f]Liza[/name_f], and even then, most people still just call her [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], so I definitely think it would be easy to enforce the full name! :blush:

I will say also, in case you haven’t thought of it, people do, pretty consistently, jokingly call her [name_f]Liza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], like the song “Little [name_f]Liza[/name_f] Jane”. She laughs it off because that’s just the kind of person that she is, but I have seen it start to get on her nerves if people mention it too often. She still absolutely adores her name, tho, so I think that’s more of a funny, joking type of thing for her, but maybe something for you to be aware of!

I don’t know why I like some feminine names on boys but not others. Maybe it’s history of use, maybe it’s specific sounds, but whatever it is, Pearl is just not it for me.

to me, liz is ‘lihz’ and eliza is ‘eh-lie-zuh’ so liz isn’t an intuitive nickname, i wouldn’t worry about it!

Does [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] have a religious connotation? I think of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] Hitchens, who was an outspoken atheist. He was a moral person, super intelligent and all that so not saying that’s a bad connotation either. [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is so established that it isn’t linked to one person. But I don’t find it religious at all.
