I agree. As an educator I’d still use it if I heard the family using it but I wouldn’t see where it came from ![]()
Would Pepa as a nn be to much when I call my own dad Papa/Papi?
- Nah it’s ok
- I’d hesitate but it’s not to big of a problem
- I wouldn’t do it

spelling for the pronunciation eh-veil-e-oh when you live in America?
- evelio
- evalio

Evelio is the legit spelling but I wonder if Americanizing it will make pronunciation easier ? And the spelling isn’t bad either way. Hm
conflicted because [name_m]Evelio[/name_m] would likely swing “eh vey lee oh), and Evalio “eh VAL e’yo.” should be an easy fix either way!!
i think i’m just beginning to realize that my letter enunciation is just not as good as the greater population ![]()

been quietly wondering this
when thinking about “I’m X’s parent” or voting in “X is ___'s parent” polls…
- it’s based on what feels right and if you can’t tell the difference they’re either all fine or all wrong because when you know you know
- (at least when voting) it’s which one I would expect to see if that person posted a birth announcement
- it’s based on what flows right/sounds best
- (maybe specifically when saying it for your own list) if it feels awkward to say then it’s not right
- (with your own list) if it makes you feel happy to say then it’s right
- other/I will explain this to you

I feel like I could say I’m jksdjlvjlsd’s mom and it doesn’t necessarily feel much different than names on my shortlist??? I guess I could really analyze my tone but idk. the only names it’s really ruled out are ones where I feel like I have to do a fake accent to pronounce it (sorry Manon)
on a totally different note
- hypothetical sisters Eve + Lucy should stay a sisterset of 2
- Eve + Lucy should have a sister
- Eve + Lucy should have a brother
- Eve + Lucy should be Eve + Lucie

For others, it depends on how many options they allow. If it’s only one, I’ll try to pick a name that I know isn’t their #1 because I know that I’m interested in what names people associate with me apart from just my top names. If it’s multiple, I guess it’s a combination of the birth announcement option and what
feels right
. For myself, it’s entirely what feels right. Idk how else to describe it.

stop hollay, pascoe, and o’hara is literally the most adorable thing ever
i think so too!!!
o’hara is so sweet to me i love it
I like [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and loove [name_u]Luka[/name_u] / [name_m]Lukas[/name_m], so generally very positive about this whole family of names!
“Pearlie” was a somewhat common name/nickname for men a century or so ago. I actually love it.
I agree ![]()

i also love isabelluccia but i can’t imagine her as a sister to hollay and pascoe !
inspired by an earlier poll, if i posted a birth announcement tomorrow, what would you most expect the baby’s name to be?

Hm so I stopped voting on “X is Y’s parent” polls because my perspective is really wrong and wouldn’t help anyone at all. Basically if your name is [name_f]Emily[/name_f] or [name_m]Matt[/name_m] I’m not going to pick [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] (too uncommon) or [name_f]Héloïse[/name_f] (too “foreign”) for your child. It has nothing to do with the person’s style, I just can’t imagine them in the same sentence. But as I said it’s not a sensible perspective.
Okay, just humor me and pick all the ones you like (either as firsts, middles, or gps – this is for a character so their usability doesn’t really matter)
