How do you pronounce Edith

I have just found out that I may have been pronouncing Wesley wrong! How do y’all pronounce it?

I actually think it can be either! I’ve heard both interchangeably :woman_shrugging:t2: so I wouldn’t say you’ve been getting it ‘wrong’.

I love this name as an alternative to Saorise (but without the potential appropriation!!), but my best friend is named Sarah, so I think I’d want it pronounced SEER-la so it’s not too close!!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] fyi, [name_u]Eris[/name_u] is the goddess of strife, chaos, or discord. Not saying it’s unusable, because I don’t know how many people know that, but I thought I should mention it just in case.

i’d go for saorlaith, which makes it look more clearly irish. before seeing that spellling i wouldn’t have thought it irish and so my instinctive pronunciation was sah-OR-lah
