I’ve heard both so I was curious about what was more common! I’m also surprised by how overwhelmingly DAHR-uh leaning it is, I thought it would be more split down the middle – especially because I’ve noticed that [name_f]Mara[/name_f], [name_f]Lara[/name_f], Cara/Kara, [name_f]Tara[/name_f], etc seem to be pretty evenly split as far as how people pronounce them.

@shorie [name_f]Maude[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is perfect
@EagleEyes I would probably switch between dahr-uh (rhymes with car) and dah-ruh (with the A in apple, cat, etc!)
@tallemaja oh my gosh, so many absolutely stunning [name_u]Mika[/name_u] combos!!! I voted for quite a few, but my absolute favorites are [name_u]Mika[/name_u] [name_u]Vivendel[/name_u], [name_u]Mika[/name_u] [name_m]Iskandar[/name_m], [name_u]Mika[/name_u] [name_m]Anatoli[/name_m], [name_u]Mika[/name_u] [name_m]Rafael[/name_m], and [name_u]Mika[/name_u] [name_m]Artyom[/name_m] - wow!!!

That makes sense! The vowel in apple, cat, etc does not come naturally before an R sound in my accent at all, but I do know what you’re talking about and can hear it in my head.

My top ten is…
- The names that I’ve loved the longest
- My current favorites, it’s always changing
- My forever favorites, it’s never changing
Trying to decide what it’s supposed to be/where I should try to start when creating a new top ten list!
