thanks for sharing this!! that is actually kinda what i am going for like approachable-modern-meets-forgotten-classic, so this is good to hear
I love Neptune and, planet-wise, really like it on anyone, but like @leafygreens mentioned, it does feel weird to use a male deityās name on a girl.
If youāre open to suggestions, I also love Neptunia!
(Which happens to be the name of 2 historic ships, M.S. Neptunia & S.S. Neptunia) (I work in an immigration archive )
This time the poll is about flow in combos.
So Iāve been loving Cleophee lately (pn CLEE-uh-fay) but I donāt love the spelling. It seems to cause some pronunciation issues, and Iām not too keen on using accents (also you physically cannot put accents on a birth certificate where I live)
This is all purely speculation⦠but how bad would it be if I put her on my list as Cleofay (or some variant)?
(Poll is anonymous)
ClƩophƩe is one of my favourite [name_m]French[/name_m] names!
I never thought of Cleofay as a spelling before. It is cool!
i donāt think thereās anything wrong with it, especially since itās all hypothetical, but if i was going to change the traditional spelling of a name to make it phonetic then iād go all out? in the sense that, i still wouldnāt pronounce cleofay the way you do (iād say clee-oh-fay, not clee-uh-fay) so because of that it doesnāt really make the change āworth itā if that makes sense at all ?
That totally makes sense!! In my accent, those two sound almost the same, but your logic is definitely sound
Favorites with the middle name ocean ?
[name_m]Just[/name_m] looks like a smoosh of [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Fay[/name_f].
[name_m]Even[/name_m] Cleofaye would be cute.
Of those options [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ouisa[/name_f] are the only one that makes sense to me to have Ouisie as a nn. because the others donāt have a ou sound in them the way I pronounce them. But of those I only like [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] for a full name.
[name_m]Sam[/name_m] as other I would pronounce this still with an OH sound (and with different emphasis, I say it clee-OH-fee), I think Cleaphae could be really cute though and matches with the rest of your list better than Cleofay
Iāve been liking this name for a while. Only problem: I think I made it up as Iāve seen it nowhere. Iād like your opinion.
Itās a version of Karina, without the uh/ah sound at the end. It could also be spelled Karine, version of, and maybe more usable than, Karen.
(This is all hypothetical)
I like the pronunciation, but not the spelling. Iād instinctively pronounce it as kah-RINN or KAR-in, Iād much prefer [name_f]Karine[/name_f] to get to that pronunciation
I think Iād like it better as Karyne or [name_f]Karine[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] Kahryne or Kahrine. Something about the double rās is throwing me off.
Kristopher?
unfortunately i just read gemali as gmail:(
Which nickname do you think makes more sense (is less stretchy) for Menelaus?
(Pn is Men-eh-LAY-us)
Which nn do you prefer for Menelaus (and if you have any more suggestion for Menelaus nns, Iād love to hear!!)
