@rosepip [name_f]My[/name_f] all time favorite names are [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] ā both have been on my list since I first created a list in 2016, and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] has been my top girls name this whole time. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] has always been very close to my heart, but I think there have been moments in the past ~7 years where I was leaning more towards [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] or [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] as my top name. However, I just went back to find my 2016 name list and sure enough [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] were my first ones listed ![]()
Mine is [name_m]SnƦr[/name_m]. Unfortunately, my husband vetoed it and there would be some pronunciation and spelling issues if I wanted to use it. But to me, [name_m]SnƦr[/name_m] (Icelandic, meaning āsnowā) is connected to the happiest time of my life. Itās been on my list since I was about 18.
I definitely have ATFs in [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and while I still really love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], I feel like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is loosing some of her spark as of late, so even though Iād still consider her my ATF, I think that might slowly be changing.
[name_u]Rose[/name_u]! To be honest there are one or two names I actually like more, but [name_u]Rose[/name_u] just has a special place in my heart - claiming any other name as my favourite feels wrong. I gave this name to my dolls when I was five and Iād love to give it to a daughter. I said I didnāt have an all time favourite boys name, but [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]William[/name_u], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] & [name_u]Max[/name_u] all mean a lot to me for various reasons.
Iām sure you could guess but mine are [name_u]Henry[/name_u] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]! There are many more names I love, and some that I even think could be better representative of my overall style, but these two are just it. Theyāve been at or towards the top of my list since 2012 and 2016 respectively!
[name_f]My[/name_f] ATF is [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. I saw [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and Company as a kid and completely fell in love. That love was further cemented by [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Wood[/name_m] in the [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] series. It was been my all time favorite āI will have a son one day and his name will be Oliverā name for over 20 years.

- Claire & Elise
- Claire & Isabella
for me, the names are [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_u]Daniel[/name_u]!
[name_u]Daniel[/name_u] was never near the top of my list, probably not even on it, until I read [name_m]Little[/name_m] Men and Joās Boys! [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] was a longtime favorite that never quite made the top, did when I was nine, then twelve, and now again!

my all time favorite boy name is august! i donāt remember when i started loving it, but i do, so much. for some reason i donāt like it for girls though. idk why, it just feels different! i would say that finnegan is my favorite at the moment, but i have this feeling that heās not going to last, sadly. my tastes changes so frequently, especially for girl names! and⦠thatās why i donāt have an all time favorite for girls ![]()
[name_f]My[/name_f] all time favorite name was [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. I began loving it at a very young age, like 3 or 4, and never stopped. When I was 23 or so, I was afraid to bring it up to my now-husband, then-boyfriend, because I knew that if he didnāt love it, Iād have to give it up. But he loved it immediately! And we used it for our daughter 10 years later. ![]()

I have an all time favourite boy - [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] although recently [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] has been vying to take overā¦Frederik has been on my list a long time tooā¦my other top boys names are all ones iāve loved forever
Girlsā names I have all time favouritesā¦but havenāt yet chosen between them [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] have all been right at the top of my favourite names for over 2 decadesā¦right now my favourite is Ivyā¦but [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] was in the top spot for a very long time.
your list made me want to suggest [name_f]Etta[/name_f] Bluebird!

Ive been seeing day names a lot lately, in curious to know favorites : )
Since I first started making lists (2017-2018?), [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] were always at the top! I always thought their symmetry was kind of cool (and also conflicting haha), but gradually I started loving [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] a little more than [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. Now I donāt really feel like I have one ATF boy name, itās between [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and [name_m]Irving[/name_m]! [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] remains firmly at number one though ![]()
[name_f]My[/name_f] two genuine all time favorite names are my partnerās last name and the name I chose for myself, so theyāre not on any lists for a hypothetical child, but theyāre the closest to my heart.
Iāve loved my name since I was eight years old. Itās always felt like āmineā and still makes me so happy to hear in reference to me. [name_f]My[/name_f] partnerās last name (a common first name and what he usually goes by) has the most beautiful sound and look and meaning with a sort of elegant, aloof, aristocratic vibe in my mind, but I didnāt think much of it before meeting him!
[name_f]Amparo[/name_f] and Afanasi / [name_m]Afanasy[/name_m] are close runner-ups that are on my āhypothetical childā list.
Would you find it cheesy or cringey in some way for a librarian to have a son named Booker?
- Yes
- No
- A little but who cares
- I have more complicated thoughts
backstory
I havenāt had a career in the past that I could point to as something that I was actively pursuing but in recent days I have made the decision that I believe I will be pursuing the career of a librarian in my future (!!) When I shared this news with a friend today, it dawned on me afterwards that Booker may become a gp for me in the future because it might be kind of odd to use as a librarian? I canāt decide myself, so of course Iām polling the wonderful berries who frequent this thread!
One of my best friends met her husband when they both worked as zookeepers taking care of alligatorsā¦
Their daughter is named [name_u]Allie[/name_u].
I think itās cute. Lol
