Donât know what happened there so letâs try that question again
- Yes, all 3 are the same
- No, all 3 are different
- Only Rosalyn and Roselyn are the same
- Only Rosalind and Rosalyn are the same
- Only Roselyn and Rosalind are the same
apologies if this distinction doesnât actually matter, but with [name_f]Rosalina[/name_f], id pronounce the first syllable like rose but with a soft S, whereas rose is usually a hard s/z sound for me
For me:
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] = âROZ-uh-lindâ
[name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] = âROZ-uh-lynnâ
[name_f]Roselyn[/name_f] = âRose-lynnâ
[name_m]Ah[/name_m] I can see that, thatâs probably more accurate since itâs I think itâs of Spanish origin although I would have to stop and think to make sure I say it that way. Would you pronounce [name_f]Roselina[/name_f] the same way?
Yea, I figured thatâs how theyâll be different but Iâve seen someone say they pronounce [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] like [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] so it made me wonder lol I didnât add [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] to the 3 because based on last poll, I was quite certain most people donât pronounce [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] the same way
Interesting, not sure which language rules that follows but looks like similar logic of [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] so makes sense. Would you still guess that pronunciation if you knew they only speak [name_f]English[/name_f]?
in terms of the s sound, yes it would be a soft s for [name_f]Roselina[/name_f] (id probably emphasize the e âehâ sound more than in Rosalina)
No, in that case âleenâ would be my first guess

Rosaline Iâd pronounce either rosa-leen or rozzuh-line (which would be my first instinct in English).
Rosalind is rozzuh-lind.
Roselyn could be rose-lynn or rozzuh-lyn. Rosalyn is rozzuh-lyn.

This nickname makes a great deal of sense to me, but curious if it has any power to stick
