Umm WHY ARE THE NAMES “[name]BANANA[/name]” AND “[name]HONEY[/name]” TRENDING RIGHT NOW?!?!?!
Okay, got that out of my system. But seriously. A few weeks ago, the most popular name of the day was [name]Bloodrayne[/name]. [name]Bloodrayne[/name]. Why? [name]How[/name] on earth is that even a name??? Oh, and yesterday, the most popular boy’s name of the day was [name]Wm[/name]. Again, WHY???
Of course, you guys probably have noticed this, considering you are berries yourselves :). But yeah, I just felt moved to start a thread about this.
Are there any names that you have seen be most popular of the day and you just HATED them and had no clue why anyone would like them?
The only reason they trend is because people see them on the ticker, think to themselves, “no way”, click on the name, and woosh, the name starts trending. If the names were honestly trending, they’d be in the ‘most popular’ box for longer than a day.
I was wondering about [name]Bloodrayne[/name] myself? I thought I was missing something?
I was just thinking the same thing! And I believe that [name]Bloodrayne[/name] is some sort of video game character. Which kind of makes it worse for me.
Whenever I see my favorite gp-but-maybe-id-be-bold-enough name on the cloud I get a little panicky. But that’s because I’m slightly ridiculous.
Yep this is why. I assume most people are just thinking ‘who in the world would name their kid [name]Banana[/name]’ and click on the name to find out.
[name]Bloodrayne[/name] is a name that has been on the name cloud for awhile, probably the most of the more unusual names.
Yep, PPs have explained why. But it saddens me that ridiculous ([name]Bloodrayne[/name], [name]Banana[/name]), made up ([name]Jazzlyn[/name]) and old shorthand ([name]Wm[/name], [name]Thos[/name], [name]Chas[/name]) names have made it into the NB database when there are many other names, usually ethnic (Welsh, Scottish, Cornish, Turkish etc), which are actually given to hundreds of children and they don’t get a look in. This is why BtN is usually my go-to for names and name meanings
