The Tapestries

In my last post about [name_m]The[/name_m] [name_m]Riven[/name_m] Throne, and my second story in that series, Gilded [name_m]Crown[/name_m], I was having issues naming a bunch of characters, and since then it’s evolved so much. If you don’t want to read a synopsis on all the stories, because it is very long, then you can just skip past to the names.

[name_m]The[/name_m] Evolution

For the sake of world building, I created an entire world called Narithizen. Inside that world, there are four continents. Visdorn, Irevekk, Dravske, and Orathea. [name_m]The[/name_m] important one is Visdorn, which contains four countries, and an island nation. Rivenspire, Auredeurex, Ignivarskell, Feiramire, and the [name_f]Isle[/name_f] of Vey. Based off these five kingdoms, I’ve built so much, so many stories.

[name_m]The[/name_m] [name_m]Riven[/name_m] Throne

In Rivenspire, the story is of two princes, escaping their kingdom in the midst of an uprising. They’re accompanied by a set of twin knights, and their younger, magic welding sister. Along the way, they’re joined by a dame, who was a native of Rivenspire, but had been living in Auredeurex. [name_f]She[/name_f] brought with her, a healer native to Auredeurex.

[name_m]The[/name_m] Gilded [name_m]Crown[/name_m]

This one is about a brand new king, who just inherited the throne, and decides he wants more women in power in his kingdom. Unfortunately, his kingdom is against women in power. His solution is to pretend to assemble a group of eight concubines, who are actually a group of women who are especially bright in eight fields that are necessary to running a kingdom. This system is tested, when the king actually falls in love with a peasant woman.

[name_m]Silver[/name_m] Chains

In Ignivaskell, magic is banned, but a trio of siblings living there want to learn magic, like their ancestors from generations ago did. So they run away, and their older cousin, who is against magic, goes with them, because he wants to protect his cousins. [name_m]The[/name_m] youngest princess of Ignivarskell goes with them. [name_m]The[/name_m] youngest of five in a kingdom where both princes and princesses inherit the throne, she knows she’ll never get it. So she runs away with them.

Blinded Brotherhood

In Feiramire, men and women generally have the same opportunities, except for two things. Only princesses inherit the throne. [name_m]Not[/name_m] princes. Only men can become knights. [name_m]Not[/name_m] because women are incapable, just because it’s an honour held specifically for them. Women can be on the battlefield, as soldiers, as battle mages, as healers. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not knights. This story is about a knight, who pretends to be a man in order to become a knight.

Tethered Hearts

[name_m]The[/name_m] [name_f]Isle[/name_f] of Vey is a small island run by women, and only women. Men aren’t allowed. So they attack any ships that sail by. They add any women on the ships to their community, and imprison any men. Their elected ruler meets a captured explorer, who is a noble, from Ignivarskell. He is taken, his crew escapes, and returns to Ignivarskell. He’s left on Vey, and eventually builds a mutual trust and respect with the ruler. Because of past experiences, she is confronted with the internal conflict of deciding how to best protect her people. He also struggles with the knowledge that he has a fiance waiting at home, it’s an arranged marriage, but he’s a man of his word. [name_m]Soon[/name_m] after, the island is attacked. This explorers crew returned, and told his parents, who sent an army to retrieve their son.

[name_f]Ivory[/name_f]

A short story about the oldest of Ignivarskell’s royal children. A young woman who has inherited the throne. [name_f]She[/name_f] doesn’t not want it, but she struggles with the fact that she has siblings who want the throne so much more than she does.

[name_m]Marble[/name_m]

A short story about the second born royal child of Ignivarskell. His struggle is that he wants the throne, but he loves his sister too much to do anything to take the throne. He knows that if they were born into another kingdom, he’d have the throne, and that eats at him.

[name_f]Velvet[/name_f]

A short story about the third born, second son of Ignivarskell’s royal family. His struggle is that nothing would fall apart without him. He could disappear into the forest for days on end, and no one would notice. [name_m]Not[/name_m] because they don’t love him, but because he’s not necessary. No one sees him.

[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]

A short story about the fourth child, and second girl of the Ignivarskell royal family. [name_m]Her[/name_m] problem is that she’s so perfect. Everyone thinks they know who she is. [name_f]She[/name_f] could be running wild with wolves at night, or learning magic in secret, or dueling the farmhand by candlelight. No one knows her.

Silent Courts

A short story about the queen of Feiramire. About her gaining the respect of kings of other kingdoms. [name_m]Her[/name_m] people respect her, but kings of other nations, who believe only men should rule, they do not. [name_f]She[/name_f] earns that.

[name_m]Horizon[/name_m]

[name_m]The[/name_m] prior experience of the ruler of Vey was early in her leadership, a girl she knew fell in love with a captured sailor, and helped him escape, this short story is about them, and their story.

Mothers And Crones

Vey’s population cannot sustain itself now that people know to avoid the island. So a group of middle aged women have taken it upon themselves to use their magic to lure in ships, so they can take in more women. This will be another short story.

Obviously, not everyone is named, but I mostly want thoughts on names, and if you read it, the plots. If you see any names that you think a reader may get confused by. [name_f]Any[/name_f] names that are too similar. That may conjure to mind another piece of media too quickly. [name_m]General[/name_m] thoughts. I know it’s a lot, so I appreciate you for bearing with me.

Please answer kindly. Thanks in advance.
