I have a son named [name]Jude[/name] I was thinking if I have two girls I would love to name them [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Mary[/name] nn [name]Penny[/name] and [name]Michelle[/name] [name]Jane[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think the theme is too obvious? I would love some feedback to hear what everyone thinks!
What’s the theme??? I think that answers your question!
The only thing I can notice is that [name]Penelope[/name]'s middle name begins with the an M (like [name]Michelle[/name])and [name]Michelle[/name] middle begins with a J (like [name]Jude[/name]). Does [name]Jude[/name]'s middle name begin with a P?
Sorry - I may be being dense?! revision brain and all.
Hey [name]Jude[/name], [name]Penny[/name] [name]Lane[/name] but I am missing the reference to [name]Michelle[/name] [name]Jane[/name]. I don’t know much about the Beatles though. Or you could go with [name]Lucy[/name]. I don’t think the theme is too obvious. I love sibsets like that.
Oooh, clever!
@ellabella - wow, I thought I had it, but I looked at it again, and I can’t really explain it properly.
@jessicajewel - I don’t think it’s very noticeable at all, but I don’t think that [name]Jude[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], and [name]Michelle[/name] go well in a sibling set. [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name] are beautiful classics, [name]Michelle[/name] was so 80s. I don’t think many people will recognize unless you tell them, because most people only go by their first name.
[name]How[/name] about?
Jude (middle name) --> Penelope June or Penelope Jane --> [name]Iris[/name] Pearl or [name]Cecilia[/name] Pearl
SO, the first initial of Sibling A gets becomes the middle initial of sibling B, etc.
Oh my gosh, I feel like an idiot. It’s the Beatles!
@poptart - [name]Michelle[/name], my belle, sont des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble…
Other names:
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name] (from [name]Abbey[/name] Road?)
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Nancy[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Valerie[/name]
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Bonnie[/name]
[name]Carol[/name]
[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Martha[/name]
[name]Prudence[/name]
[name]Mary[/name]
[name]Vera[/name]
Not sure if those are entirely accurate!
I saw it immediately but it’s not too bad, especially getting [name]Penelope[/name] from [name]Penny[/name] [name]Lane[/name], that makes it different. [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] both feel very stylish. I agree though that [name]Michelle[/name] kind of doesn’t really fit in. You could alter it to [name]Michaela[/name], sine you got [name]Penelope[/name] from [name]Penny[/name], which is more current, although sort of overused as [name]Mikayla[/name]. [name]Michaela[/name] is a better match with the others though.
[name]Jude[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], and [name]Eleanor[/name] works likely, although [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Rigby[/name] is a very sad song.
[name]Lucy[/name] would be good although very light compared to [name]Penelope[/name], but maybe [name]Lucinda[/name] or [name]Lucia[/name] would go with [name]Penelope[/name].
[name]Maxwell[/name] is another great boys’ name from a Beatles song, although again not the most admirable character!
[name]Prudence[/name]?
Sure there are more!
I love the theme and do not think it’s too obvious. It takes some thinking about and only when you see them all together. I got it because Hey [name]Jude[/name] is the reason I started loving the name forever ago so I think of it everytime I see the name. I’d like to see [name]Rita[/name] with the set!
I was just thinking about how all themes are only obvious when you see all the names together . More appropriately for this set, it’ll only be obvious to beatles lovers, and if they love the beatles, they’ll love the theme!
[name]Love[/name] it!!
I noticed it right away and I only have a handful of Beatles songs on my iPod, so I don’t think only big fans would notice. I’m not usually a fan of themes. That being said, I think [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name] nn [name]Penny[/name] are adorable together. I’m not a fan of [name]Michelle[/name], though. It doesn’t match stylistically and makes it seem like you were trying a little too hard for a Beatles theme. So, to summarize: [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Penny[/name]? Yes. [name]Jude[/name], [name]Penny[/name] and [name]Michelle[/name]? No.
Thanks every one for your feedback. If I were to ever have two girls I would probably go with [name]Penelope[/name] and something else. I really loved the idea of singing a song to my child with their name in it. [name]Jude[/name], my son who is two sings Hey [name]Jude[/name] all the time. If I had girls I could probably pick a great song for each one but if I have another boy the idea probably won’t work because there aren’t too many songs with boys names. If anyone has any more ideas for girls names that fit this theme let me know. It doesn’t have to be a Beatles song.
From a quick search, here’s what I found:
[name]Laura[/name] - from Goodnight [name]Laura[/name] by Spoon
[name]Cecilia[/name] - from Oh, [name]Cecilia[/name] by the Burden Brothers
[name]Caroline[/name] - from Sweet [name]Caroline[/name] by [name]Neil[/name] [name]Diamond[/name]
[name]LOVE[/name] it! Saw it immediately, but then I am a huge Beatles fan. I think the song ‘[name]Michelle[/name]’ would be a lovely namesake, but as names I prefer [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Lucy[/name] - [name]Lucy[/name] being that bit more positive! If you like [name]Eleanor[/name], there is always ‘[name]Elenore[/name]’ by The Turtles - another sixties band. That way, you can keep the Beatles theme but have a more cheerful song to sing to her!
I noticed it, but I love it!
If I could name another family I think I’d do [name]Dylan[/name] lyrics - [name]Marie[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Sadie[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Rosemary[/name], [name]Jack[/name]… Catfish? Haha!
I think it’s cool! Like others, I would prefer another name ([name]Julia[/name], [name]Sadie[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Sally[/name] are all good title names) to [name]Michelle[/name] (although I do like that song!).
I know you said it wouldn’t work if you had more boys, but here are a few male Beatles names:
[name]Maxwell[/name] (from “[name]Maxwell[/name]'s [name]Silver[/name] Hammer”, although [name]Maxwell[/name] here is a murderer come to think of it)
[name]Desmond[/name] (from “Ob-La-[name]Di[/name] Ob-La-Da”)
[name]Robert[/name] (from “Dr. [name]Robert[/name]” - drug reference though!)
OK, so maybe most references to males are pretty negative…
I don’t think it’s very noticeable at all unless you really start piecing things together and I’m a huge Beatles fan. I had a boyfriend in high school who’s name was [name]John[/name] [name]Lennon[/name] ______, now that’s too obvious! I have a feeling that my children will have some Beatles influence. I’m pretty deadset on naming my first daughter [name]Prudence[/name] nn. [name]Pru[/name]. [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Lennon[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]/[name]Lucille[/name] are always in my top favorites. I’m sure my boyfriend would love the idea of naming our son [name]Jude[/name], but I it’s a little too short for my taste.
I saw the pattern. Then again, my dogs are named [name]Desmond[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] and I used to have a cat named [name]Sadie[/name]
That being said, [name]Michelle[/name] just feels dated to me. Great as a mn, though. [name]How[/name] about [name]Penelope[/name] “[name]Penny[/name]” [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Michelle[/name] or [name]Julia[/name] [name]Michelle[/name]? Then you have another pattern, which is that both girls would have M as their middle initial.
