You know, I just replied wit this name in the “feminine versions” post and I think I spelled it [name]Theodora[/name], but I think I actually prefer [name]Theadora[/name].
I think of them as two different names. Maybe I’m pronouncing it wrong but I’ve always said [name]Theodora[/name] as thee-oh-dor-ah, like it’s spelled, while [name]Theadora[/name] would be thee-ah-dor-ah. I prefer [name]Theodora[/name] because I’m more familiar with it.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Theodora[/name] with nn [name]Thea[/name], but I dislike the spelling [name]Theadora[/name]. IDK, it doesn’t make a lot of sense I guess, but I just feel that [name]Theodora[/name] is a more traditional spelling. [name]Even[/name] if you are going to use nn [name]Thea[/name].
I like [name]Theodora[/name] better. FWIW I also like [name]Dorothea[/name]
[name]THEADORA[/name]- [name]Theodora[/name] looks like [name]Theodore[/name]. I guess I’m pretty biased though with my sister being [name]Theadora[/name]. [name]Theodora[/name] just looks spelt wrong.
I much prefer [name]Theodora[/name]. [name]Theadora[/name] may be a valid variant, and in some instances I prefer the variant spellings (I prefer [name]Elinor[/name] to [name]Eleanor[/name]), but in this instance [name]Theadora[/name] just looks misspelled to me. I guess it just has to do with the fact that [name]Theodora[/name] is more familiar to me personally.
I prefer [name]Theodora[/name] but I think when the “[name]Oz[/name]: The Great and Powerful” comes out it will put the name back on the map and if you are the type of namer who wants to stay out of the top 1000 I would choose [name]Theadora[/name]. I don’t think you’re being stupid at all aesthetics are really important when it comes to a name for me so I understand where you’re coming from.
Georgia[/name]][name]Theodora[/name] is a beautiful name, and personally I would pronounce it just the same as [name]Theadora[/name]. I’m afraid [name]Theadora[/name] just looks wrong to me. You can still call a [name]Theodora[/name] ‘[name]Thea[/name]’ for short
