So I am 30 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child and it’s a BOY! We are dead set on the name theo but of course we want something a bit more then just that. So we chose [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] but this is where we have a problem we can’t agree on the spelling our options are…
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodor[/name_m]
Theothor (this is my bfs fav)
My favorite is [name_m]Theodor[/name_m] (which is NOT a creative spelling) but a legit spelling in laguages where vowls at the end are strongly pronouced. (for example in [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] = [name_m]Theodor[/name_m]-eh and sounds feminine.)
Theothor sounds a bit like you have a slip. Since you like [name_u]Theo[/name_u] as a nn and have Theothor as an option why not go with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] or [name_m]Theodor[/name_m] and choose [name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_m]Thor[/name_m] as nn’s? That way you BF get’s the [name_m]Thor[/name_m] part I assume he’s attracted to and you get a gorgeous and classic name for your son.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] - the classic spelling is the best option
[name_m]Theodor[/name_m] - a legitimate [name_m]German[/name_m] spelling
Theothor - a lispy modern invention
Go with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (or [name_m]Theodor[/name_m] if you want a more Germanic spelling). Theothor looks like someone watched the trailer for [name_m]Thor[/name_m]: The Dark World one too many times or something.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. 100%.
Theothor sounds like someone is trying to say [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] with a lisp (no offense).
[name_m]Theodor[/name_m] just looks incomplete to me.
I think [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is just the cutest name, but I do prefer [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
Best of luck
