I came across this name today. It immediately caught my eye and I think I am liking the sound and look of it. I think it’s a Greek name? I’m a lover of [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and this one is similar but seems a bit more edgy. Would love to know your thoughts!!
Maybe you mean [name_f]Thera[/name_f] ? Honestly its the first time I hear this as a name but its interesting . I personaly prefer [name_f]Thea[/name_f] & [name_f]Thora[/name_f] .
I think you mean [name_f]Thyra[/name_f] —*it’s a Scandinavian name that is often used in European royal and noble families. I think it’s wonderful.
My cousin is Athyra (A-Theera), which I think sounds really good (:
Maybe you mean [name_f]Thera[/name_f]? [name_f]Thera[/name_f] was what the island of Santorini used to be called- [name_f]Thera[/name_f] is supposedly the actual [name_f]Atlantis[/name_f] as described by [name_m]Plato[/name_m]. It is gorgeous either way though.
[name_f]EDIT[/name_f]: [name_m]Just[/name_m] Googled- Thira is an alternative spelling for [name_f]Thera[/name_f]- either way it is right.
I love it! I have it as a nn for Lothira, but I didn’t realise it was actually a real name!
Its ok, I much prefer [name_f]Thea[/name_f] or [name_f]Thora[/name_f].
Yes - I was on Santorini this summer and [name_f]Thera[/name_f] and Thira are its Greek names. I could see it being a cool girl name. The pronunciation seems pretty straightforward, yet it would be uncommon. I think I like it more the more I let it roll around in my head!
Wikipedia says Thira is an official name of Santorini island in Greece. I like it and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] too.
I prefer [name_f]Thera[/name_f] or [name_f]Thora[/name_f].
Apparently THIRA is the acronym for FEMA’s Threat and [name_m]Hazard[/name_m] Identification and Risk Assessment. Unless you want the “THIGH-ruh” pronunciation, I would opt for the [name_f]Thera[/name_f] spelling.
