I adore [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. I think either sound great with sisters [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f].

You have lots of lovely options, I went for [name_f]Anna[/name_f] because I think it’s such a good fit with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] may work even better, but I prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. My second choice is [name_f]Annabel[/name_f].

My sister and I are [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], so I would also suggest [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f] as names you might like since those are our middle names.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]! She is the best strong female [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] character in my favorite play, and it’s a lovely underused name that wouldn’t be out of place with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] probably fits those ultra-classic names in style best, but I just love [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] is lovely, too, but just a little too far outside your other daughters.

[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is my favorite combo, but it’s a little fancier than your older girls, which are more timeless classics. If you’re trying to match to them, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] seems the best fit.

I feel like [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] goes really well in the sibset…(but is [name_f]Mary[/name_f] & [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] too much Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u]?)

So you do like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]! I think, even though I love [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] wins for me as I feel like it’s just as grounded and calm as your girls’ names.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] feels a lot bolder, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] make me think of Victorian ladies, [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] is a 1920s flapper girl (name wise).

Haha yeah, it is a lot of Downton I guess! [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is my grandmother’s names so I definitely want to stick with it but maybe [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] is too much.

I do love [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]!

So [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is off the table? I do think, as I said in the other thread, that [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] sounds devine, and flows much better than [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f].

Yes, I think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] run into each other too much. And I really love [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. I do think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] might fit better with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] but I’m not sure if it’s enough to make me choose [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f] over [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or another name I love.

I love [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f], DH has already vetoed [name_f]Louise[/name_f] but I don’t think we’ve thought about [name_f]Helen[/name_f], thanks!

Wow, those are some gorgeous names! [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] are probably my two least favorite, but it was nearly a tie for me between the other four. They all sound great with the sibset. I ended up going with [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] but [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] probably would have been my second choice. Good luck!

If [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] goes by a nickname, maybe [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] for [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] would make it more fitting?
I do like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] but I don’t think it fits in much better than [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f].

[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] & [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] are my favorites.

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u]:
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] - I love the unexpectedness of [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] and the fact that it’s so strong. It’s a regal, majestic name. It also feels ancient the way that [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] do. It brings the sibset into more aristocratic and stylish territory. Not to mention it’s the most beautiful with [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. My favourite!!

Like:
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] - this is my second favourite after [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]. It flows wonderfully with the other names and has a Biblical connection that isn’t obvious but helps create continuity.

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] - [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] are perennial classics. The original classics. [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is a tradition name, but the original classic is [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are balanced. If it were [name_f]Rose[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], I’d love it and it would be my second choice after [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f].

Would not use:
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - I think that [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is too sweet. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] are serious names. It also seems odd because [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is to [name_f]Anna[/name_f] what [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Meaning [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] is the version of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] that [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] fits with.

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] brings down the sibset. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] are strong, regal names. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is sort of a common Eastern-European name. The only Annas I’ve met are off the farm, my Great-Grandmothers included.

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] - it just doesn’t go. For one thing it’s too Latin. Then, not only is it derivative but derivative of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] which is too close to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] itself.

Recap:

  1. [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (if this were an option)
  3. [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]
  4. [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]

This is really helpful! Thanks for the feedback. Any other names you would recommend that I don’t have on my list?

[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is gorgeous. It feels a bit fanciful and magical but grounded and reliable at the same time. The best fit with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] would be [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f], but [name_f]Anna[/name_f] doesn’t feel as special to me. I like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_f]Edith[/name_f] with your sibset too- a bit frillier and more different, but still solid classics. [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] and [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] are beautiful names, but they seem a bit too princessy and overdone with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
