Last time I started a poll to get some guidance as to which spelling you all preferred:
[name_m]Alistair[/name_m] or [name_m]Alastair[/name_m]. I also said that it was my FINAL post and that it would help me decide out of the spellings once and for all…
But now there’s a new name I’m loving - [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]. And with all of your lovely feedback about how this would be a great sibling name with big brother [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] it’s got me seriously considering it.
So, here is my final poll!!!
Thank you once more. Firstborns are so much easier to name!
Thank you for voting and for kindly posting feedback (again!) I also think the combo [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]/Alastair sounds fantastic
You’ve been so hesitant on so many small points around [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] — the spelling, the pronunciation, the Scottishness — none of which is a dealbreaker or even close to it, but you just never sounded quite comfortable with it, although you love the name.
That, to me, makes it a perfect middle name choice. You still get to see and say it in all its handsomeness as much as you like, but those issues are greatly minimised.
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] sounds fantastic alongside [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], and I’m loving this crisper spelling next to [name_m]Rupert[/name_m].
Another vote for [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]–it seems like the perfect way to incorporate both of your choices, and the perfect brother name for [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]!
I adore [name_m]Alastair[/name_m], but I think [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] are mean to be brothers! Wow, didn’t read the [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] suggestion, I agree it’s perfect!
Thank you!! Yes - I definitely had a lot of hesitations about [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] as a first name. So putting him in the middle is a wonderful compromise. I think we may have found THE name too
Oh my These poll results are making this decision so hard. It’s funny - even though I was leaning towards [name_m]Rupert[/name_m], I really wanted the poll to bring about results that were more one sided. But on a positive note, at least I know that either option would be lovely
I voted for for [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] for a couple of reasons; 1. It goes way better with [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], 2. [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] is ridiculously common where I live, and as such seems pretty boring.
Rupert [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] is really lovely though.
