This or that: similar-sounding classic names

Hi berries!

I’ve noticed lots of people have a distinct preference on names that are really similar but still their own name (e.g. Danielle vs. Daniella). I thought it might be fun to put them to a poll, starting with classic names! So, which similar-sounding classic name do you prefer?

It’s A-Z minus Q because I couldn’t find any good ones, but if anyone else does, please feel free to add it

You really stumped me on a few. I was so mad when you made me choose between [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_u]Willow[/name_u] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]. All of those names are on my shortlist and I honestly am having trouble choosing. They are just so beautiful.
Thank you for making this thread. It was very interesting.

Isn’t it funny how strong our preferences are?? There are some (like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] vs. Tess) where I love one option but am not a fan of the other at all. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

I love all these as well. I especially struggled with [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]. Both are just stunning! I’m glad you enjoyed the thread

Great game. Thanks is there a boy name version

Confirming what I already suspected: I really prefer sleeker names, as in not ending in -a like [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] vs. [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]. There are a few exceptions, like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] which is a favorite of mine, but by and large the overly feminine -a endings or variations are not quite my style.

Same with “-anna” ending names. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not for me!

Loved this poll!

Same thing happened to me with Frances vs. Francine, Sylvie vs. Sylvia & Vivian vs. Vivienne! And I loved this poll, too.
