Thora?

What are your thoughts on [name]Thora[/name]?

And what is the correct pronunciation? [name]THOR[/name]-uh or [name]TOR[/name]-uh (silent ‘h’)? I ask because we know a few boys named [name]Thor[/name], and they pronounce it like “[name]Tor[/name]” (silent h)

[name]Thora[/name] is so pretty!

[name]Both[/name] of those pronunciations are correct, I think. It depends where you are from. In English-speaking countries you will get [name]THOR[/name]-a but that wouldn’t apply everywhere.

I find [name]Thora[/name] appealing because it contains some strong sounds but still manages to sound soft in my mind. I would most likely pronounce it [name]THOR[/name]-uh (in US) unless told otherwise. The [name]TOR[/name]-uh pronunciation may get you some people thinking her name is spelled like the Torah (not really a big deal though).

I really like [name]Thora[/name]! I would pronounce it [name]THOR[/name]-uh (like the God [name]Thor[/name]) and [name]TOR[/name]-uh sounds like toro, like the bull fighters say.
I think it’s very strong and pretty too.

I’m a big fan of [name]Thora[/name]-it’s in our top five girls names! I agree with amberdaydream, both pronunciations are acceptable. If she ever were to head to Norway it’d be [name]Tor[/name]-uh, but I sort of prefer [name]Thor[/name]-uh. Plus, I don’t think many people who speak English as a first language would pronounce it [name]Tor[/name]-uh, it isn’t really intuitive.

I say [name]THOR[/name]-uh, but tecnically it’s [name]TOR[/name]-uh. I [name]LOVE[/name] this name.
