I’m 13 weeks pregnant and we’re considering the name [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] for a girl- thoughts? The middle name is not really negotiable as [name_f]Constance[/name_f] is the name of both of our mothers (strangely) and mine passed away a few years ago.
Also I have 3 other daughters ([name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]), how do you think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] would go with these?
I really love the combo [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f]! [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is one of those names that I wasn’t crazy about at first, but over the years, it’s grown on me. The name is just really timeless, and although [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] has a bit of a different sound than [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u], and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], it still has the same feel.
I love the combination! I’ve always loved [name_f]Constance[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is a great name too. And I think it goes really well with her sisters’ names!
I love the name [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]! I recently heard the name [name_f]Inga[/name_f], and I thought it might make a cute nn for an [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], no one else would have that! [name_f]My[/name_f] only thoughts are she may not like having such, for lack of a better term, “harsh” sounding names for both first and middle. [name_f]My[/name_f] other concern is that [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] don’t quite go together as a sib set, but I think it would still work.
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is just so unexpected and wonderful!
I see what you mean, my girls’ names are pretty soft/girly, and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is harsher sounding. I guess I just have a different connotation now after meeting this little curly blond-haired girl named [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] a few years ago. Her name just seemed so refreshing and she was so adorable, that I fell in love with it.
I use to not like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], but there is a beauty guru on Youtube that I’ve seen and her name is [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]. She’s really pretty and bubbly, so the name has grown on me because of her.
I love [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f]! It’s solid and strong, clearly feminine (she couldn’t possibly be mistaken for a boy) but not frilly. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] feels glamorous, and exotic but familiar. I can see this not being to everyone’s taste though, especially that of non-berries who like more “modern-sounding” names. Which is fine, just be prepared for that.
I just never could like [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], it just sounds clunky to me. I like [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Hilda[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], and [name_f]Esther[/name_f] though.
However, I think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is a perfectly usable, and though it isn’t my cup of tea, I can see why people appreciates the name. I say if you love the name, than you should use it.
Well, I’m about to get really biased because [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is my favourite girls name, but hear me out.
I think [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is the loveliest name in the world. Full-on fierce snow princess - think a mix of Frozen’s [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] (aka. WHY WAS SHE NOT NAMED [name_f]INGRID[/name_f]!?!) and ASOIAF’s Ygritte. She’s all white and wintery to me. She’s strong and feisty. She has badass namesakes ([name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] Bergman and [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] of [name_u]Sweden[/name_u]). People often dismiss it because of its supposed harshness. Another fine example of the English pronunciation slaughtering beautiful Scandinavian names. This is the Swedish pronunciation and it’s much more beautiful and soft than ING-rid. Tl;dr: [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] is flawless.
I have never particularly cared for [name_f]Constance[/name_f], but paired with [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] it’s absolutely beautiful. It looks ravishing. [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f]. I’m currently gushing over its beauty.
