Boy’s name? Girl’s name? It appears to be pretty unisex but does come up more as a boy’s name when I look online. Considering it as a girl’s name to go with siblings [name]Hadley[/name] and [name]Emmerson[/name], both girls. I just recently came across it. Please give me all your thoughts/opinions on it! As of now, I am really liking it! DH isn’t sure.
I like it!
I’m surprised it came up as a boys name. It sound very feminine to me.
My strongest association with the name is W.H. [name]Auden[/name], and I may be wrong, but I don’t think it was commonly used as a first name until quite recently. Since it’s a surname and doesn’t have a “son” meaning (and wasn’t used historically for boys, like [name]Thomas[/name] or [name]James[/name]) I suppose it could be either. I really like the sound of it, and it’s one of very few names that I can picture working on a boy or a girl. I think it’s great for sisters [name]Hadley[/name] and [name]Emmerson[/name]- both are surname-y and unisex, so [name]Auden[/name] fits right in.
Ditto everything the PP said.
Good [name]Luck[/name]!

It has a nice sound but isn’t my taste. I much prefer [name]Audra[/name], but [name]Auden[/name] probably goes better with the other names.
I like this name for a girl–I have seen it listed as a girl’s name (but have yet to meet any ‘Audens’ yet!) and think it fits well with your other children’s names. It looks and sounds more on the feminine side to me, yet can see it as a unisex name. I think pairing it with a feminine middle name should help eradicate any issue of gender.
Best!
I think this name would be fine on either sex. I don’t think its used frequently enough to be strongly associated with one gender or another. However, I like [name]Arden[/name]/[name]Audrey[/name]/[name]Aubrey[/name]/[name]Audra[/name] better.
The only confusion I see with this name is how close in sound it is to [name]Austin[/name] but since there is no historical set gender it may be one of the few genuine unisex names. It does go well with [name]Hadley[/name] and [name]Emmerson[/name].
I think [name]Auden[/name] is a girls name. But I once read a book by [name]Sarah[/name] Dessen and the main Character has that name so that might be why To me it sounds more feminine then masculine.
I think it sounds like more of a girls name. It is very pretty. You also might want to consider Annen, [name]Auburn[/name], or Anden if DH won’t go for [name]Auden[/name]. [name]Just[/name] to make sure it is said “aw-den”, not “ow-den”, right? And I don’t see how anyone could get it confused with [name]Austin[/name]. They are so different.
