Thoughts about Willow on boys?

I love the name willow and I mean the nickname will is right there, so I think it could work. But I’m not sure about how I feel

I think [name_u]Willow[/name_u] is perfectly gender neutral!

Not for me. [name_u]William[/name_u] is so much better and [name_u]Willow[/name_u] would just sound like [name_u]Will[/name_u] O. on a boy to me

I know that [name_u]Willow[/name_u] is gender neutral but I would assume a [name_u]Willow[/name_u] to be a girl IRL.

i love it! nature names aren’t gendered to me, so i think it works perfectly on a boy.

i love willow on a boy! i definitely prefer it over willow on a girl. and, like you said, the nn will is intuitive and could be used if he had any issues with the full name willow

I love it on any gender and love to see it on a boy, especially with nickname “Will/Wil.” It’s a beautiful nature option!

I think the sounds of it are definitely masculine enough! For some reason, the vibes I get are pretty feminine, but I think meeting a male Willow would change that for me!

I really it for either gender! [name_u]Willow[/name_u] on a boy is like [name_u]William[/name_u] meets [name_u]Marlow[/name_u] — both in sound and vibe.

I’d aim for [name_u]William[/name_u] on a boy. [name_u]Or[/name_u] even [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]. [name_u]Willow[/name_u] comes off very feminine to me.

I like [name_u]Willow[/name_u] and I know it is unisex, however I think of it as more girl. I know of several little female Willow’s IRL, so I think that skews my opinion a little. If you are using [name_u]Will[/name_u] as a nickname, I think I will lean towards [name_u]William[/name_u]. But just my opinion!

I prefer [name_u]Willow[/name_u] on a boy, I like that it’s a bit softer than [name_u]William[/name_u] and I think it’s a nicer way to get to [name_u]Will[/name_u], and I love nature names. (But I just overall don’t like William.)

I’d consider it for a middle for a boy but not for a first. I know nature names are gender neutral but [name_u]Willow[/name_u] feels so feminine to me, and I’ve only ever known female Willows. Plus, as quite a popular name for girls at the moment a boy with the name will likely grow up alongside a one or more female Willows.

Anyway, it’s just a personal preference. I love names like [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m], [name_m]Wilbur[/name_m], [name_m]Willem[/name_m], [name_u]Wilkie[/name_u] (and William) though.
