What do you think of the name [name_u]Dana[/name_u] (day-nuh)? What other spellings have you seen? I have seen it probounced [name_m]Dan[/name_m]-nuh for a girl. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it is neutral enough for a boy?
I think [name_u]Dana[/name_u] would definitely work on a boy. The only people I’ve met named [name_u]Dana[/name_u] have been boys. I’ve only seen the spellings [name_u]Dana[/name_u] and [name_f]Dayna[/name_f].
I know one female [name_u]Dana[/name_u] ([name_u]DAY[/name_u]-nuh). I’ve never heard of this name for a boy but I don’t live in the US. [name_u]Dana[/name_u] is the only spelling I’m familiar with.
I’ve known boy and girl [name_u]Dana[/name_u]’s. They were all prn day nuh. I prefer it on a boy.
I know a male [name_u]Dana[/name_u] and a female [name_f]Dayna[/name_f]. So to me the name seems pretty gender neutral. For a boy I would keep the spelling as [name_u]Dana[/name_u].
I have never encountered the name [name_u]Dana[/name_u] here on a person as it is slang in my area and pronounced [name_f]Danna[/name_f], but to my understanding as a given name it’s unisex and pronounced [name_f]Dayna[/name_f]. So I think it works on a boy.
