My husband and I both love [name_u]Percy[/name_u]! I’ve never met anyone with the name. What do you all think of it? We’re considering [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
I love the name [name_u]Percy[/name_u]! I think it is young and mature at the same time. I love they way it sounds, it is easy to spell. I really love it, but I’ve gotten responses that it is too preppy, that people don’t like it. But I would use it in a heartbeat. I love [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. I hyave to say that [name_u]Percy[/name_u] sounds great with most J names. [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_u]Jordan[/name_u]… So lovely.
I love the suggestion of [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]! So handsome!
I love [name_u]Percy[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_m]Percival[/name_m]! I named my laptop that, actually, and use both names. It could stand alone for sure, I just prefer fuller names. It’d also be a great nickname for [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m].
In all earnestness, I do like the names [name_u]Percy[/name_u] and [name_m]Percival[/name_m]. But in real life, I do believe a little boy would not appreciate it; however much his parents might love it as a name. In my family at least, it is looked upon as more of a joke than a name (they view it as highly effeminate).
I know an adorable little boy named [name_m]Percival[/name_m], called [name_u]Percy[/name_u]. He’s homeschooled, so doesn’t have to deal with bullying. I sense when he’s older he’ll go with the quite manly [name_m]Percival[/name_m] when he introduces himself. I like [name_u]Percy[/name_u] as a nickname, but think it does need some heft (it has “purse” in it…) so I’d pair it with [name_m]Percival[/name_m] to make it more versatile.
I love [name_m]Perseus[/name_m] nn [name_u]Percy[/name_u]. Perhaps it has to do with my love of mythology names…[name_m]Thor[/name_m], [name_m]Ajax[/name_m], [name_m]Perseus[/name_m], [name_m]Titan[/name_m], Dagr, Fitch, Ragnarok…are some of my favorite names!
I think [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is lovely…
My 6 year old son wants to name our baby [name_u]Percy[/name_u]. He loves [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] the Train, who has an engine friend named [name_u]Percy[/name_u]. In the series, [name_u]Percy[/name_u] is kind of a small, silly pest who gets bullied because of his pranks on the “Big” Engines, who have names like [name_m]Gordon[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Edward[/name_m]. In my mind, the creators chose the name [name_u]Percy[/name_u] to contrast the strong, very male sounding names of the other engines.
But of course, only those with certain aged boys who are [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] the Train fans will have this association…
I like it. The [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] books and movies are popular amongst young kids right now, and I think that association really helps. It is a softer name, but I don’t think that’s an issue. It will not make him any less of a boy. [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] sounds great to me.
