I haven’t heard the name Jakeh before and not sure of the pronounciation, maybe [name_m]JAK[/name_m]-aye? Maybe it is a familiar name in your area? I think it may be annoying for her to have to tell everyone how to pronounce her name and also how it is spelled so I would choose [name_u]Jordan[/name_u].

I chose [name_u]Jordan[/name_u]

I have never heard Jakeh before and have no idea how to pronounce it… but it looks harsh

I’ll add:
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_u]Julianne[/name_u]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]

I grew up with a girl with that name, so I am guessing it’s new to most people and would be pronounced wrong.

I also have no idea how to pronounce Jakeh - but I assume it’s [name_m]Jack[/name_m]-ay/[name_m]Jack[/name_m]-EH?
Between [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] and Jakeh, I’d pick [name_u]Jordan[/name_u].

You might like:
[name_u]Jael[/name_u] (but it’s pronounced Yah-elle)
[name_f]Judith[/name_f]
[name_f]Jada[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_u]Jaime[/name_u]
[name_f]Janine[/name_f]
[name_f]Jenna[/name_f]
[name_f]Jemima[/name_f]
[name_f]Jeisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Jerica[/name_f]
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f]/[name_f]Johannah[/name_f]/[name_f]Johanna[/name_f]
[name_u]Jodi[/name_u]/[name_f]Jodee[/name_f]/[name_u]Jodie[/name_u]/[name_u]Jody[/name_u]
[name_f]Joelle[/name_f]
[name_u]Josie[/name_u]

[name_u]Jael[/name_u] is a really cool female hero in the old testement.
And I have never liked the name [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], though I understand there is nothing wrong with this classic name, but I cant help but think of the river and shoes.
Never heard Jakeh, but would choose that over [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] if it were just between those two.

I would go with [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], or another J name personally. Jakeh seems like it would run into spelling and pronunciation difficulties that may grate on you later. Either way, congratulations on the baby!

The confusion with pronunciation would put me off Jakeh, maybe different spelling a bit more phonetic friendly?

Jaikah maybe?

As far as other unisex J names go maybe: [name_u]Jem[/name_u], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_u]Jesse[/name_u], [name_u]Jody[/name_u], [name_m]Jett[/name_m], [name_u]Jules[/name_u]/Jools, [name_f]Journey[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_u]Joss[/name_u]

Much [name_u]Love[/name_u], [name_u]Sky[/name_u]

[name_u]Jordan[/name_u] [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] is a little too unisex for me but I prefer it to Jakeh, which sounds very masculine to me.

Thank you for all your responses. It was good to see how much the pronunciation would be a factor with Jakeh as a first name. I am going to keep [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] as my first pick, but have a few more J names as a back up and even other non J names as well.

[name_m]Ry[/name_m]
