What do you think of these names for a girl as first name?
I think [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is more usable than [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], honestly. [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] feels way more dated.
I love them both a ton! I especially have a soft spot for [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] nicknamed [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]. It just works to me. Both of these names are witchy and full of vibrance, color, and spirit.
I like them both, especially [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]. It would sound so sweet on a little girl. [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is a bit more clunky to me but I’d be delighted to meet a young [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]. [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] is a super sweet nickname for either.
They have a clunky cute vibe. I prefer [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] personally, but [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is sweet too
I love both of these names, both well known but underused! I prefer [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] as a full name, I like the softer ending. However, there are more nickname options for [name_f]Agnes[/name_f].
Both are lovely!
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] feels sweet, nostalgic and has cottagecore imagery attached. I prefer [name_f]Agatha[/name_f].
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] feels sharper, clunky cool and hipster. She has fashionista energy. Very fun.
I prefer [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] to [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], possibly because I really like the name [name_f]Ines[/name_f] which comes from [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]! [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is a bit too dated and clunky for me. I haven’t come across anyone with either name so I don’t have any personal associations with the names.
i love them both !! both agnes and agatha are on my list, and agatha is in my top ten. i think they’re both imminently usable and incredibly pretty.
I mean, I’m biased because [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is my top girl name ever, but I love!
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is sweet, loyal, spunky, and dreamy! I love the stubborn nn [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] and the literary and musical feel. The meaning is super sweet too. i love the soft yet strong sounds and how she works beautifully in so many languages. Nothing but love from her and to her!
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is more a clunky cute vibe but I love her too. Cute, unique, and under-rated for sure. Also love the nn [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] for [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]!
I like them equally. However, I like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nessie[/name_f] the best
I know a beautiful [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] in her twenties, she has long shiny black hair and pale skin. She’s like [name_u]Snow[/name_u] White. Definitely a usable name. I love it!
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] feel more dated for me, if I had to choose. But I love this one too. [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] feels like [name_u]John[/name_u] [name_u]William[/name_u] Waterhouse paintings. [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] feels cozy, like that:
I love both of them because I love pretty much anything vintage and I can’t really decide which I love more.
I’m afraid I’m the odd one out, i really can’t get behind these two names… I do like [name_f]Inez[/name_f] though which comes from [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] that feels truly timeless to me and not dated
I absolutely love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]. She has a seriousness to her that [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is missing for me. With [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] I still see an older lady, [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is a chic young woman or a super hip little girl
I love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]. It was my great aunts name. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandmother was [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and her sister [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]!
I love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]- I think the little girl in Despicable Me made it usable again. [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is really cool too, kind of witchy (in a good way.)
So happy to read these comments. I feel like both names get a lot of hate for no reason.
They’re not names I’d personally use, but they’re both sweet in their own way! They have that clunky, dusty but ready for a revival vibe. I prefer [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] over [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], but I do agree that [name_f]Nessie[/name_f] as a nn for an [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is the cutest thing ever! But [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] just hits me the right way, I think it’s the Autumnal, cottagecore vibes that come with it.
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f]! I love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] too, but I like the rhythm of [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] and am not super fond of the ‘nes’ ending
