I really adore Allister as a name. I wouldn’t mind giving it to a daughter. I would like to know what some other people think and I would love to see recommendations from others if they have any!
I prefer it on a boy, but I actually know a girl called [name_m]Alister[/name_m] and she wears it really well! I think it works for a girl.
Allister is cool! Sounds more masculine to me, but I think it’d be fine on a girl too!
I kind of like it! Allister is cute
Thoroughly a boys name for me, sorry. I get the appeal - it sounds like a fresh take on [name_u]Allison[/name_u], and the -er ending is cool - but it is too much like [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], which is only a boys name to me.
I’m not opposed to boy names on girls but I just can’t picture this one.
I only like it for a boy, but it could maybe work as a middle. [name_m]Just[/name_m] out of interest, do you like it on either gender or just on a girl?
Not my favorite on a girl, I perfer it on a boy more. But still a very nice name and very usable!
I haven’t ever heard it on a girl but I think all names should be unisex and it’s a good name.
Sorry, but I don’t like male names on little girl, although Allister is a lovely name.
I think it sounds so cool, but I just can’t picture it on a girl.
I’m not a huge fan of it on a girl I’m afraid - lovely for a boy though! [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was actually of Mad-Eye [name_m]Moody[/name_m] from [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] although his name is Alastor
I like it as a boy’s name.
Similar sounds:
[name_f]Anniston[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Esther[/name_f]
[name_f]Alison[/name_f]
[name_u]Spencer[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
[name_u]Ellery[/name_u]
I hadn’t considered it before, but I like it!
I am reading a book currently where the little girl is called Allisande and I thought that was both unique and beautiful! I prefer this to Allister as I think you may struggle to shake the gender assumption of it being a boys name
