My name is [name]Andrea[/name] and I would like to know how you feel about my name.
I like [name]Andrea[/name]. For a grown woman, it makes me think of a pretty businesswoman- someone who doesn’t wear scarlet lipstick but instead goes for a more flattering shade of red, and can calculate large numbers in her head. For a younger girl, it has the cute, boyish nn [name]Andie[/name]. It’s got sass but still seems classy. It’s not as classic as [name]Caroline[/name], but has more spunk. It might be a little dated, but it still has the sparkle of other dated-but-still-pretty names like [name]Jessica[/name].
Did that make any sense?
[name]Andrea[/name] is an intelligent, serious name. I prefer [name]Alexandrea[/name], but then I like [name]Alex[/name]/[name]Alix[/name] with everything :-).
I don’t like [name]Andrea[/name] pronounced awn-dreh-uh. I do like it pronounced like an-dree-uh though.
I feel the same about the pronunciations as katem91. I think [name]Andy[/name] ([name]Andie[/name]/[name]Andi[/name]) is a good nickname for a tomboy and a girly girl can use [name]Annie[/name] or [name]Drea[/name]. It’s a nice name.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m],
well my name is also [name_u]Andrea[/name_u], i like it. Most of my friends call me [name_f]Andie[/name_f], and no i am not a tomboy, i am actually pretty girly.
[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_u]Andrea[/name_u] (I know your name is [name_u]Andrea[/name_u] because you’re part of the [name_m]Young[/name_m] Name Lovers group!), and I pronounce it An-dree-uh. I think it for the most part because it isn’t quite the popular name but itsn’t so bizarre. [name_f]My[/name_f] only quarrel with [name_u]Andrea[/name_u] is all the pronounciations. It isn’t a big issue where I come from because most people pronounce it as An-dree-uh, but in other places (especially when I go traveling), it is such a big issue that I just give up in trying to get to people to pronounce it correctly. Another thing is its lack of nicknames. I’m not a tomboy, so [name_u]Andy[/name_u] didn’t really work for me. Also, [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] is a pretty popular name, so being [name_u]Andy[/name_u] wasn’t really a choice for me. I never liked [name_f]Annie[/name_f] because that’s was just too country bumpkin for me (sorry!), and [name_f]Drea[/name_f]… who honestly would use that? All in all, I like my name. I think it can be stereotypically middle class, but what name hasn’t gone through that phase? Sorry for this bias opinion. I’d love to hear what other [name_u]Andrea[/name_u]'s have to say as well about their name!
[name_u]Andrea[/name_u] sounds dated to me.
I’ve ALWAYS loved the name [name_u]Andrea[/name_u]!
I really like it.
I love the name [name_u]Andrea[/name_u]. I would pronouce it [name_f]Ondrea[/name_f] myself but spell it [name_u]Andrea[/name_u]!
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] your name! I know several [name_u]Andrea[/name_u]'s my age, so I have many good associations with the name.
