Thoughts on April?

[name]April[/name] was once on my list for a number of reasons, but was eventually crossed off. I found myself reconsidering it tonight, but could really use some feedback on it.

What’s your opinion on the name? What kind of image does it send out? Would you use it, or not? Any middle ideas?

Surname starts with a V.

I’ve always liked the name [name]April[/name]. It sounds bright, happy, and pretty. I consider it underused as I’ve only met one person in my life with the name. I think it can work well as a first or middle name.

I really do like the name [name]April[/name]. For some reason I think of a red head.
It’s probably the “ape” sound that would stop me from using it as a FN, but a great MN for sure.

[name]Avril[/name] is pretty cool if you can get past the singer.

I know a girl named [name]Riley[/name] [name]April[/name], and that combo is beautiful. However, I’ve never met someone with [name]April[/name] as a first name. I do prefer [name]Avril[/name], with the potential nickname [name]Avi[/name] or [name]Avri[/name], but neither of these names need nicknames.

[name]April[/name] is a great month name worth considering [name]IMO[/name].

[name]Avril[/name] is the French variation of [name]April[/name]. [name]Both[/name] mean second. [name]April[/name] is 395, and [name]Avril[/name] isn’t in the top 1000.

I have always like [name]April[/name] ever since I first heard it while watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I remember the first time I met somebody named [name]April[/name]. It is one of those names I love and find very very underused! It is a pleasant surprise when I hear on somebody. [name]Avril[/name] is nice, but I prefer the more traditional [name]April[/name].

[name]April[/name] is gorgeous!! It sounds very yellow and reminds me of daffodils and yellow tulips. [name]April[/name] [name]Gwyneth[/name] would be nice since [name]Gwyneth[/name] gives me the same image.

I love the name [name]April[/name]! It’s so fresh and pretty.

I really, really dislike it, sorry - Ape just stands out and I find it so unattractive.

It’s one of the better month names. I think it is pretty, but I would probably never use it. There are a lot of other names that I like more. Plus, I feel like it would only be usable if the child was born in [name]April[/name]. I say this because I have a feeling that everyone would assume that and you would have to constantly correct them if she was in fact born another month.

I like the name [name]April[/name]!

I’m torn on this name. In my area there were a ton of Aprils born in the late 80’s early 90’s, so it’s kind of dated to me.

But I think it’s a great sound.

My name was almost [name]April[/name], but my dad said it would be cheesy to name me that since I was born in [name]April[/name] (so, you can’t win either way I guess).

I think it’s a pretty name, a teeny bit dated to my ears, but not bad. And I love [name]April[/name] from “[name]Parks[/name] and Recreation.”

I would only give it if the month has great personal significance to you, such that you’d have a good story to tell your daughter. I feel that way about all everyday word names, be they nouns or adjectives.

I love it! My first pet (lovebird) was named [name]April[/name]!

I have always loved it. It’s one of those names everybody knows but doesn’t really get used anymore. I think it had its heyday in the 80s, but because of that its kind of fresh and unexpected now.

I think it sounds springy, innocent, simple, light, bright, and pretty. As with almost all calendar names, there’s something a little magical about it.

To me, vowel names are made even more open and ethereal paired with other vowel names. I like:

[name]April[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name]
[name]April[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]April[/name] [name]Evanna[/name]
[name]April[/name] [name]Estella[/name]

In any case, I really like [name]April[/name]!
