[name_m]Hi[/name_m], my partner and I are liking the name [name_f]Celia[/name_f] at the moment but are worried it may be a bit too old fashioned. Does anyone have any thoughts on the name or have suggestions for alternatives?
What other girl names do you think would work for siblings?
I’d honestly be more likely to go with [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]. [name_f]Celia[/name_f] reads a little too close to celiac for me which is a little too disease reminiscent.
I love [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. And it’s actually related to [name_u]Celeste[/name_u], not [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], so it has that better meaning. (“Heavenly” versus “blind”.)
Other names that strike me as similar OR would with well as sisters:
I was just thinking today that SOMEONE must name her child Celia![quote=“guineapigsandrabbits, post:1, topic:435792, full:true”]

[name_f]Celia[/name_f] is not old fashioned at all. I prefer [name_f]Celie[/name_f], but I find [name_f]Celia[/name_f] to be a modern name (yes, it is modern for me!) yet with a classical or Renaissance background. It is light, celestial and not frilly, but with an elegance. The meaning is good. It has flair and it is a mature name - which is good. It is not too childish. It is a fine name.
