I am currently in love with the name [name]Chiara[/name], I think it’s an adorable Italian name, except for one major problem. I was sitting here thinking it was pronounced SHI-ah-ra instead of [name]KI[/name]-ah-ra, and now I’m super disappointed. [name]Just[/name] wanted to see which prounounciation people here liked better. Maybe you’ve heard the first one or maybe I just made it up in my mind, idk. [name]Hope[/name] to hear your opinions, thanks
I love [name]Chiara[/name] and prefer the kee-ah-ra prn. It’s a beautiful name! Pronunciation could be a pain though.
My name
It’s definitely pronounced kiara, not shiara actually its exact pronounciation is more like k YA rah rather than kee [name]AH[/name] rah
I am from [name]Italy[/name] where it’s an extremely common name but when I was living in the US/abroad people always had trouble pronouncing and understanding it. I got chee ara, cara, kira…
definitely a k’ sound, not a sh’.
I pronounce it kee-ah-ruh and I agree with [name]Chiara[/name] that it comes out sort of like kyar-uh. i absolutely love this name!
Maybe you should spell it [name]Kiara[/name] so avoid pronunciation problems?
Definitely don’t like “shiara.” I think [name]Chiara[/name] pronounced properly is beautiful, and worth the spelling pronunciation difficulties. I think the k spelling really takes away from the beauty of the name.
I love [name]Chiara[/name] (so much that at one point I really wanted to adopt it as a middle name!) But yeah, definitely with a K sound at the beginning, and the stress on the AHR syllable.
