I love stumbling upon new names! [name]Ciel[/name] is French for sky, and it’s kind of growing on me. Was wondering what others here thought of it. Might make a pretty, and offbeat, middle name.
Opinions?

I think this, like soleil, is just a French word and not a given name at all : /
I like [name]Ciel[/name]. It’s very pretty & I think it would make a wonderful middle name.
I love [name]Ceil[/name]. It’s pretty and different. I like it as a nickname for [name]Celia[/name] or [name]Cecelia[/name], or just as a full name itself. Since it means sky, it would make a great alternative to the popular [name]Sky[/name] itself.
I love [name]Ciel[/name]–I love that it’s sleek, exotic, and has a pretty meaning. I’ve actually had it on my list for a few years, particularly as a middle name for [name]Neve[/name], the Italian word for “snow” pronounced “NEY-vey.” [name]Neve[/name] [name]Ciel[/name] (“NEY-vey see-[name]ELL[/name]”) would loosely mean “snowy sky” in a mix of Italian and French, which I love. You may also like [name]Ceil[/name] (pronounced “seel”), another name similar to [name]Ciel[/name] that is on my list.
Although I don’t have any problem with it being a word name, I do think people would stumble over the spelling and pronunciation of the name (especially if they don’t speak French). It could be a very pretty and unexpected middle name choice though!
