As we all know, over time a person’s taste in names can change dramatically. Mine has changed so much that I sometimes surprise myself. The latest surprise is [name_f]Coco[/name_f]. This is not a name I would’ve considered even a year ago but it’s resonating with me now. Thoughts on [name_f]Coco[/name_f]? Particularly [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Francine[/name_f]. I don’t know if my DH would go for it and I doubt I’ll use it because my last name starts with an O but I’d love some feedback! Thanks!
I’m not a fan, I’m sorry! I keep thinking of [name_f]Coco[/name_f] the gorilla and/or a scantily-clad cabana girl
Super cute nickname for childhood. It just doesn’t pass the maturity test [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. Also, I think of [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] Cox and [name_m]David[/name_m] Arquette’s daughter, a name only a celebrity kid could pull off. Sounds like it’s out because of your surname anyways, [name_f]Coco[/name_f] O__ would be tongue-twister. I love the idea of [name_f]Francine[/name_f] [name_f]Coco[/name_f] though!
I love [name_f]Coco[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. I could see sisters [name_f]Coco[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f], they are share that nickname sort of feel but are all legitimate names in their own right. If you have and O’something last name I don’t think you could use [name_f]Coco[/name_f].
I say it’s a wearable, charming and intriguing name. Not to mention a cultured and famous one. It’s on my list and I wouldn’t have any qualms about using it.
By the way, there is nothing wrong with having the same name as an animal, but the guerilla’s name is [name_f]Koko[/name_f], anyhow.
Two famous Cocos at the moment have prominent 'O’s in their second names: [name_f]Coco[/name_f] Rocha (she even has ‘oc’ going on) and CocoRosie (technically 2 sisters named [name_f]Coco[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. The [name_f]Coco[/name_f] sibling is [name_f]Coco[/name_f] Casady. I say if she can use [name_f]Coco[/name_f] + C last name, you can definitely use [name_f]Coco[/name_f] + O last name.)
Rising star concert pianist [name_f]Coco[/name_f] Ma is only 14, and has been selected as Lang Lang’s student. I briefly met her and she is bright and vivacious and whip-smart.
I didn’t look up [name_f]Coco[/name_f]. I know these Cocos off the top of my head. In fact, I only just learned from the above poster that [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] Cox and [name_m]David[/name_m] Arquette gave their daughter that name. So, to me, [name_f]Coco[/name_f] mean culture, sophistication and talent. Not to mention beauty and charm. I vote for [name_f]Coco[/name_f] all the way. I love Coco Francine. Francine gives Coco its sense of origin.
I love it as a nickname. I know it’s a bit of a stretch, but my favourite is [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Coco[/name_f]
Thank you everyone for the replies! I’m still loving [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Francine[/name_f]. I’m going to marinate on it. My DH likes nature names so I was wondering about [name_f]Clover[/name_f] nn [name_f]Coco[/name_f]??? ([name_f]Clover[/name_f] doesn’t feel the same for me but it’s another thing to think about.)
[name_f]Coco[/name_f] sounds like the name of a dog.
My partner loves this name. We know a young girl who almost exclusively goes by [name_f]Coco[/name_f], full name [name_f]Coral[/name_f]. He thinks [name_f]Coral[/name_f] and [name_f]Coco[/name_f] are perfection (:
I like it too (just less than he does) and think of [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Chanel[/name_f]. No qualms about immaturity here! Plus, I love it paired with [name_f]Francine[/name_f]!
[name_f]Coco[/name_f] sounds very sophisticated and chic to me, not immature at all. My first (and only) association with it is [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Chanel[/name_f]. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Francine[/name_f] personally but it flows well; [name_f]Coco[/name_f] would go well with a lot of [name_m]French[/name_m] names e.g. [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Mireille[/name_f] or [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Angeline[/name_f].
Not my style but if you like it then go for it.
Sorry I don’t think of the name Coco as cultured at all. It’s a good name for a much loved, pampered cat or dog though. You don’t want a name that ends in O anyway so I have voiced my honest opinion
I like [name_f]Coco[/name_f]. I might prefer it as a nickname, and I think it’s more common that way, but I do like the sound.
[name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Chanel[/name_f] was [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f], nn [name_f]Coco[/name_f]; [name_f]Coco[/name_f] of Cocorosie is [name_f]Bianca[/name_f], nn [name_f]Coco[/name_f]. [name_f]Coco[/name_f] of Ice Loves [name_f]Coco[/name_f] is [name_f]Nicole[/name_f], nn [name_f]Coco[/name_f] as well.
I think [name_f]Coco[/name_f] is actually kind of cute.
I like it. I taught a 12-year-old named [name_f]Coco[/name_f] once (it was her full name), and it totally worked on her and definitely will continue to fit through adulthood. It’s a name that can definitely grow with the person, so it’s cutesy as a kid but then just sweet as an adult without being too much.
I really like [name_f]Coco[/name_f]. I think it is stylish and cute. I think it will age well. Tbh I have never ever ever heard someone say “that name hasn’t aged with them.” Once you know a person, it isn’t even a factor.
One of my favorite combos I’ve seen is [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. I also like a pp suggestion of [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Mireille[/name_f].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Coco[/name_f] but not with the o-ending last name.
I think [name_f]Coco[/name_f] is cute but I prefer it as a nn. I love it as a nn for [name_f]Cosima[/name_f]! But it would work for any name that started with Co, like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], [name_f]Coralia[/name_f]… I also know a [name_u]Dakota[/name_u] that goes by [name_f]Coco[/name_f]. I guess it would work well on its own too. I like the combo [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Francine[/name_f]. [name_f]Francine[/name_f] grounds it a bit.
I brought up [name_f]Coco[/name_f] to my DH and he didn’t really say much… But it takes a while for most names to grow on him. I’m still stuck on the flow with our last name though. Last name is similar to [name_m]Osborn[/name_m].
I think [name_f]Coco[/name_f] would make a cute nickname. I dont know what for though…
