#1 Thoughts on the name [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]?
#2 Thoughts on [name_f]Coralina[/name_f]? I was wondering if the a at the end of each syllable was a bit much?
My opinions on the other names in this family:
[name_f]Coral[/name_f] is a bit too word namey for me.
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f] sounds like an adjective to describe a color and is more nick namish to me
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] has too much of an association to [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] for me and my (male) neighbour growing up was named Cordel (not a good association)
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] I’m just not fond of.
I like [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] best. [name_f]Coralina[/name_f] really seems like there are too much A’s. Are you saying [name_f]Cora[/name_f]-Leen or [name_f]Cora[/name_f]-[name_f]Line[/name_f]?
@little_billie Thank you, I’m using [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] as a nickname
@thunderbolt I like the -bella names and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]. Now that you mention it [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] is frilly, but I’m more of an over the edge frilly person. Thank you for the feedback
@babyninja143 I’m going to say [name_f]Cora[/name_f]-line but I prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f]-leen. I just think [name_f]Cora[/name_f]-line may be the more intuitive pronunciation for most people.
Well, it was pronounced [name_f]Cora[/name_f]-line in the movie so that’s why I intuitively go to that pronunciation. But this name is rare enough that I’d want to go the [name_f]Cora[/name_f]-leen route.
If you decide to use it, I doubt she will meet anyone else with her name. So the pronunciation really is up to you, the parent
