Thoughts on Cynthia?

My grandmother is called [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] and I always loved the longer version of the name [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]. We probably wouldn’t nickname our daughter [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] if we went with the name, I am leaning more towards Cynth or [name_f]Thia[/name_f] (prounouce [name_f]Thea[/name_f]).

Some middle name ideas we have:
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]

What are everybody’s thoughts on the name? Is she ready for a revival? Also, any middle name ideas that you think we have missed?

[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] is my name. I was born in the 80’s when the name was passed it’s peak and it was very uncommon for my generation where I live. I only ever met one other [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] my age and none that were younger. I grew up surrounded by Jessicas and Jennifers and I was very much happy to have uncommon name. I think it’s a very good name. It’s feminine and it’s pleasing to the ear. I would absolutely love to meet a little baby [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]! My main nickname was [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] but some people called my Cynth or [name_f]Cyn[/name_f] which I preferred. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] would be a great option.

[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]/[name_f]Thia[/name_f] are absolutely adorable. I like all your middle names with it too.

I really love it and the NN [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is precious

My name? [name_m]Ah[/name_m]… many people here seem to think of it as an old lady name but I seriously don’t care about the whole dated issue. I was born in 1992 and I grew up loving my name. [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] sounds beautiful to my ears and has a great connection with the goddess of the moon and hunt (which makes me love it even more! :)). I know several around my age, even though some of them use different spellings and nicknames. My main nickname is [name_f]Cyn[/name_f], but sometimes I also go by C, [name_m]Cy[/name_m], or even [name_u]Zia[/name_u] (a stretch, I know).

Yes! [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Thia[/name_f] would get my vote.

I think it would be great to meet a little [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]! Also, [name_f]Thia[/name_f] and Cynna are cute nicknames if you want one.

[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] is such a beautiful name, and it’s fresh again! It almost lost its lustre thanks to over-zealous parents back in the day. It’s been on my list for a while.

I love [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]… that’s gorgeous.
(Also, I knew a [name_f]Cinda[/name_f] and always liked her name, if you want to consider it as a nn).

[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] (one of the few first names that can hold up [name_f]Jade[/name_f] as a middle, imo)
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_u]True[/name_u]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. My grandmother was also called [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] but it was short for [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] and so [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] is on my list as a middle name option, and [name_f]Thea[/name_f]/[name_f]Thia[/name_f] is on my list as a first name option. If I had the guts I would use it as a first name (doesn’t suit my style so she would stick out like a sore thumb among her siblings) but I do like [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] as a full first name.

I have always loved [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]. As a child, I knew a beautiful teenager named [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f], so it always brings lovely images. I love [name_f]Cindy[/name_f] as well.

I like [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] and think it’s ready for revival-- especially with a different nn (I’m not a fan of [name_f]Cindy[/name_f]). [name_f]Thia[/name_f] is a nice idea.

I really like the name [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]…it always seemed like a fairy name to me, and I have never gotten a “dated” impression from it.

[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is especially charming.

[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] seems very outdated and out of style to me. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is much prettier, in my honest opinion.

I suggest [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f], nn [name_f]Thia[/name_f]. Cute, pretty, spunky, underused. [name_f]Cia[/name_f] (see-ya) is also a cute nn.

[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] is a nice name.

I love [name_f]Cynara[/name_f], [name_f]Cinda[/name_f], [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] too.

I think [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] is a little tired and outdated, but not to the point where I would say unusable. I like a PPs suggestion of [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. The nickname [name_f]Thia[/name_f] is also adorable! I personally wouldn’t use it, but it’s definitely not unusable.

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name that doesn’t need to be nicknamed.
