Thoughts on each please??

So I have my top 5 boys names. I will be taking all with me to the hospital and will choose which name suits him best when I see him!

I just want to get a few last impressions on each of the names. So please be completely honest!

[name]Viggo[/name]
[name]Henrik[/name]
[name]Ambrose[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name] (I have switched [name]Sebastian[/name] with [name]Elijah[/name] because I love it more)
[name]Roscoe[/name]

I also just wanted to take this moment to say I have really appreciated everyone’s help here at Nameberry! I truly appreciate all the suggestions and advice I have gotten from everyone! Thank you guys! This will be my last thread until the baby arrives.

XOXO ~ [name]Charlotte[/name] (aka MidnightSkies) :o

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]

I like them in the following order
[name]Elijah[/name]
[name]Roscoe[/name]
Virgo
[name]Henrik[/name]
[name]Ambrose[/name]

All the best

Elijah - Love this name! I know an Elijah and he’s a little obnoxious, but I love the name.
Roscoe - I keep saying Rasco in my head for some reason. Don’t hate, but don’t love.
Henrik - Not a fan of the spelling (feel like it should be Henrick), but love the sound. Good choice.
Viggo - the more I say it, the more I like it! I feel like this could be more of a nickname though.
Ambrose - reminds me of the name Rose, which makes me not a fan of the name for a guy.

Overall, they’re not my style, but I still think they’re great names.

[name]Viggo[/name]- I really like this one but you might want to expect a lot of weird looks with this one in real life…
[name]Henrik[/name]- Very handsome!
[name]Ambrose[/name]- I have recently been starting to dislike it because more and more I see [name]Amber[/name] rose. [name]Just[/name] my opinion
[name]Elijah[/name]- I really like this but it’s getting a bit too popular…
[name]Roscoe[/name]- I’m really starting to love [name]Roscoe[/name]. A lot.

You got a nice list of names here. But I think [name]Henrik[/name], [name]Roscoe[/name] and [name]Viggo[/name] are my favs.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback!

[name]Henrik[/name] and [name]Ambrose[/name] are my favourites. If you want a more masculine nn for [name]Ambrose[/name], [name]Bo[/name] is what I would use.

[name]Viggo[/name] is odd for me. I know it from the way it’s used in Scandinavia, and I just don’t see the appeal. I like how unusual it is though!

I never liked [name]Elijah[/name], I prefer [name]Sebastian[/name].
[name]Roscoe[/name] is a bit too rough for me for some reason, perhaps for the similarity to ‘rascal’. I prefer [name]Monroe[/name] or [name]Royce[/name] or even [name]Roarke[/name]. Or [name]Pascoe[/name]. [name]Pascoe[/name] is awesome.

They seem a little mixed in style, that was my first thought but that might be a good thing to be able to see which name he fits more.

I personally only love [name]Elijah[/name], but find [name]Roscoe[/name] and [name]Ambrose[/name] very handsome.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

[name]Viggo[/name]-I can’t pinpoint it, but I’m just not feeling it.
[name]Henrik[/name]- Very handsome. This is my second choice.
[name]Ambrose[/name]- My initial reaction was a little skeptical, but it is growing on me. Sounds distinguished.
[name]Elijah[/name]- I like the nn [name]Eli[/name] better than the full name, but it is a fine name.
[name]Roscoe[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this. [name]Love[/name], love, love this.

I absolutely adore [name]Roscoe[/name]! Such a fantastic name. I could see a [name]Roscoe[/name], [name]Viggo[/name] or [name]Henrik[/name] growing up to be a pretty cool kid!

[name]Roscoe[/name]: in my top 5 too, [name]LOVE[/name] this name so much! [name]Happy[/name] to see others who love it as well… Very beautiful and strong.
[name]Ambrose[/name]: I really love this too, it has a lot of the same qualities as [name]Roscoe[/name] I think.
[name]Viggo[/name]: very cute, cool and fun!
[name]Henrik[/name]: handsome. It’s very popular in Norway so I hear it a lot, but I like it.
[name]Elijah[/name]: I’m not crazy about this, but it’s not a bad name.

[name]Viggo[/name] - It’s pleasant.
[name]Henrik[/name] - Doesn’t do it for me as much as [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Hendrix[/name] but it’s okay, especially if you have a tie to the language.
[name]Ambrose[/name] - A favourite author of mine, classic underused name, love this so much.
[name]Elijah[/name] - Well I certainly love it more than I love [name]Sebastian[/name], and its a good classic name with good nicknames.
[name]Roscoe[/name] - The only one I really don’t like.

[name]Elijah[/name]- I prefer the nn [name]Eli[/name] but it’s a great name.
[name]Roscoe[/name]- Sounds like a tough guy in the making. I kind of dig it though.
[name]Henrik[/name]- I don’t like the spelling or the sound plus it makes me think of Heineken Beer for some reason.
[name]Viggo[/name]- [name]Just[/name] not my style.
[name]Ambrose[/name]- Not a fan of this one either.

I wish you and your baby the absolute best! xo

I really really like [name]Roscoe[/name], I think this one is going to get more popular (in a good way) now that’s it is hopefully moving away from the dukes of hazzard association. [name]Elijah[/name] is a great name as well and the nickname [name]Eli[/name] is very cute. The others aren’t my style so I won’t comment on them

I like the names in this order:
[name]Roscoe[/name]- I don’t know what it is about this name, but I love it and it seems others do too!
[name]Elijah[/name]- a great, high energy name, with the great nn [name]Eli[/name]
[name]Henrik[/name]- interesting twist on [name]Henry[/name], very handsome
[name]Ambrose[/name]- I’m not sure how I feel on this one, kind of neutral
[name]Viggo[/name]- not my style

Good luck! I’m sure seeing your baby will help.

  1. [name]Henrik[/name] - I really like this. It’s interesting and easy to say, yet fairly uncommon. I picture a smart, sincere little guy.

  2. [name]Roscoe[/name] - this is a rough-and-tumble boys’ name to me. I picture a little guy making mud pies, and an older boy looking for bugs or playing sports.
Tied for 3rd: [name]Ambrose[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] - these both have very different feels, but I like them both. [name]Ambrose[/name] feels distinguished, handsome, yet accessible. [name]Elijah[/name] is familiar, and I like the nn [name]Eli[/name].

  3. [name]Viggo[/name] - this is the only one I don’t like at all. I know it’s a well established name, but I can’t help but think of the actor, and I’ve never heard of another person named this. I guess it depends where you live. I don’t like the sound of it either.

[name]Viggo[/name]- I like the sound of the name, but I can’t get past the meaning.
[name]Henrik[/name]- I kinda like it. Not really my style, but I like it a lot better than [name]Henry[/name]. It could definitely grow on me.
[name]Ambrose[/name]- [name]Don[/name]'t like this one. On the TV show Monk, Monk’s crazy brother was named [name]Ambrose[/name], so that is all I can picture.
[name]Elijah[/name]- I like it. It’s very popular in my area, but it’s a nice name, and [name]Eli[/name] is a great nn.
[name]Roscoe[/name]- [name]Love[/name] it  It feels like a guilty pleasure name to me, but I would love to see it get more popular. I’ve never seen Dukes of [name]Hazard[/name], so that reference means nothing to me. This is my favorite from your list!
Good luck, you have a great list of names! Tell us what you decided when he gets here

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the feedback!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Roscoe[/name] and [name]Viggo[/name]. [name]Roscoe[/name] reminds me of Midlake’s song [name]Roscoe[/name], it goes:

Whenever I was a child I wondered what if my name
Had changed into something more productive like [name]Roscoe[/name]
Been born in 1891
Waiting with my Aunt [name]Rosaline[/name]…

Thanks for the feedback!
