Thoughts on Elise

I have recently fallen in love with [name]Elise[/name]! i have always liked [name]Alice[/name] but the ‘a lice’ thing bothered me and [name]Elise[/name] seems like [name]Alice[/name]'s prettier more delicate sister (to me).
I pronounce it e-lease (as in to lease a house)
It seems short sweet and i like the way it looks written.
What are the thoughts on [name]Elise[/name]? My main concern is it getting lost in a sea of similar names, [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Elenor[/name], Ellowyn, [name]Elise[/name].

I actually love this name! I couldn’t decide between [name]Eliza[/name] or [name]Elise[/name] to add to my list and finally decided on [name]Elise[/name] for now! I think it so simple yet beautiful. It also seems elegant but sweet. I’ve never met anyone named [name]Elise[/name]. I’ve heard it used as a middle name though. I think it’s a great choice! I also love [name]Verity[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name] from your list by the way. [name]Zoe[/name] is on mine too!

I love [name]Elise[/name]!

It was one of the frontrunner for when my son was born (had he been a girl)!

I think it’s beautiful!

It’s beautiful! And because it’s more unique tha [name]Alice[/name] it has less associations linked to it which can be a plus. [name]Elise[/name] and [name]Delphine[/name] are my favorites from your list. (They sound nice together too!)

I love that name. It’s on my short list

I’ve recently discovered [name]Elise[/name], and I adore it! It’s lacey and sweet, but it’s not flimsy. I think it’s a great substitution for [name]Alice[/name].

I think it’s pretty! I know 5 [name]Elise[/name]'s between the ages of 20 and 30 so it seems a little dated to me - but it may be a different story in the US. All the ones I know go by their full names - they don’t get caught in the sea of [name]Ellie[/name]'s!

I love [name]Elise[/name]- It’s my middle name so I may be partial. My only concern is how “popular” it’s getting. I put popular in quotes because I see it all over Nameberry…but that doesn’t mean it is popular in real life! I only know one other [name]Elise[/name] that is my age (early 20s)

I really like [name]Elise[/name], is classic but not boring. With that said, I prefer [name]Alice[/name].

You have some really nice names on your list.

[name]Willow[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Sapphira[/name] [name]Zoe[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Delphine[/name]

I can’t wait to hear what you name her!

I can’t wait to hear what you name her!

Yay! I am really loving this name right now! I love it when other people like my name choices!

@emelis thanks i love all my names on my list it will be soooo hard to settle on The [name]One[/name]!

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Elise[/name]! I know several little girls (under 2) with this name, so it’s doesn’t seem dated where I live. (I actually like it better than [name]Alice[/name], which has always seemed more dated to me.)

I love it.

It’s vaguely dated here in Australia, but it’s so pretty I don’t care.

I knew a couple of Elises growing up, and I was always jealous of their name. And confused as to why the boring ‘[name]Lisa[/name]’ was so much more popular!

Totally with you. I love it. We just used [name]Alise[/name], to honor my husband’s great aunt, [name]Alice[/name].

I really enjoy the name [name]Elise[/name], it’s much prettier than [name]Alice[/name] too imo.
However, it is similar to a lot of the popular name at the moment, so it’s losing lustre imo. I still like it a lot, and am contemplating adding it to the list. It’s also my SO’s mother’s name.

It’s my fav from your list! I prefer the spelling [name]Elyse[/name], but that’s just me.

I really like [name]Elise[/name], but prefer [name]Elyse[/name].

I really like [name]Elise[/name]. It’s on my list. I came across it at a Slimming World (weight loss) meeting. The consultants daughter was named [name]Elise[/name]. I’d never heard it before.

To break apart from the rest, I think it’s vaguely dated and boring honestly. Falls into the same category as [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Marie[/name] for me personally! I think it works well as a middle name though.

[name]Elise[/name] is great! It’s so pretty and has a simple elegance to it

[name]Elise[/name] is gorgeous. I like [name]Alice[/name] too, but [name]Elise[/name] is softer and has a gentler touch.
