My husband and I are having our first child (a girl) and I want to name her [name]Ella[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. He’s not totally convinced…any suggestions for other names using [name]Grace[/name] as a middle name?
I think Ella Grace is very sweet…
A few Similar names to Ella:
Ellie
Etta
Olivia
Emma
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is an extremely popular name (both first and middle). So, if you’re okay with that, I think it’s beautiful. She just may be one of many.
It’s okay. Kind of common though… It seems like every other [name]Ella[/name] I meet has the middle name of [name]Grace[/name].
Personally, I [name]LOVE[/name] it. It’s just very popular as a full name and as a nn. Otherwise it would be number one on my list too. [name]Ella[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is a very sweet and pretty name.
I think it’s pretty, but I agree with others that it’s kind of common.
Thanks for the advice, I’m not sure I want her to be one of many, I didn’t know the name was so popular!
As per pp; very sweet names but both very popular (because they are such good names!).
I don’t think it matters having a common name for mn but for fn I would prefer something more individual. You could consider a longer name that can still be shortened to [name]Ella[/name]: [name]Daniella[/name], [name]Gabriella[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Estella[/name], [name]Arabella[/name] etc?
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is a pretty name but it is so popular!
[name]Ella[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Pauline[/name]
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Ella[/name] Bloom
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Delaney[/name]
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Maisie[/name]
Beautiful, but SO everywhere you look these days. If [name]Grace[/name] is a family name, then I’d look for alternate firsts that carry the same sweetness – [name]Nora[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Isla[/name], [name]Annabel[/name] etc. If your heart is set on [name]Ella[/name], perhaps pair it with a less popular middle name like [name]Clementine[/name] or [name]Violet[/name].
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is very cute! The name is quite popular but that doesn’t stop me from loving it. What about using something like [name]Noella[/name] [name]Grace[/name] nn [name]Ella[/name]? That’s a bit more distinctive, I think… [name]Giselle[/name]/[name]Gisella[/name], [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Annabel[/name], [name]Arabella[/name], etc., could be other [name]Ella[/name] alternatives.
It is very pretty, but not very unique.
I know two babies both named [name]Ella[/name] under the age of 1…and at least 15 kids under the age of 1 with the first or middle name of [name]Grace[/name].
It is a pretty combo and it has definitely had it’s moment of stardom. It’s still a popular combo. If that doesn’t bother you, I say go for it.
Or maybe use [name]Ella[/name] as a nickname:
[name]Ellina[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Eliana[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Elissa[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
Elessandra [name]Grace[/name]
Too common. [name]Ella[/name] [name]Grace[/name]'s are the Jessicca [name]Jane[/name]'s of the 80s. I’d google that name combo and maybe you will see the ba-zillion girls that have gone before.
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is a very pretty name.
Lots of people agree- that is why both names are so popular.
I would encorage you to consider what other people have replied about choosing a longer first name and having [name]Ella[/name] as her nn.
- Anything ending in ella or elle (although [name]Isabella[/name] is probably even more popular, so maybe not that one)
- Anything starting with [name]El[/name]
If you choose a longer name she can have the [name]Ella[/name] nn you love but have her individuality too as she goes through teenage years and into adulthood.
[name]Grace[/name] is a beautiful name with a lovely meaning. If you adapt the first name keeping the mn [name]Grace[/name] is fine- girls often LIKE having similar names to their peers.

I’m a second grade teacher, and I see this name everywhere! Last year I had three [name]Ella[/name]'s in my class alone (along with two [name]Isabella[/name]'s & two [name]Emma[/name]'s). But out of those three [name]Ella[/name]'s, two of them had the middle name [name]Grace[/name]. The other was [name]Ella[/name] [name]Rose[/name], which is just as popular and overused in the middle as [name]Grace[/name].
It might just be me, but I wouldn’t want my daughters to have to be [name]Ella[/name] M. for their entire school life.
I feel like [name]Grace[/name] is the “go to” middle name right now, along with [name]Rose[/name]. I know a countless number of girls with the middle name [name]Grace[/name].
Despite that, if you love the name, go for it.
But if popularity worries you, how about:
[name]Grace[/name] as a first name? Although still popular, it’s not as popular as [name]Ella[/name].
[name]Annabelle[/name]. You still get the “elle” in there. I think [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is lovely!
[name]Elle[/name]. Although there’s tons of [name]Ella[/name]'s running around, I’ve never met an [name]Elle[/name]!
[name]Belle[/name]. Cute, charming, a great alternative to [name]Isabella[/name], and still gives you the “elle”, which you can make into the nn [name]Ella[/name].
Good luck!
Whatever you choose will be wonderful :).
