I was wondering what other berries thoughts were on Embroidery for a baby girl, [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] for short
Definitely a no from me. I’m all for word names, but… no. Also, [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] is really masculine to me.
Sorry not a fan. Have you considered [name_u]Emery[/name_u]?
I generally like word names, but this one just doesn’t do anything for me.
Possibly, [name_u]Ember[/name_u]?
Sorry, it has to be a no from me too. [name_u]Emery[/name_u] and [name_u]Ember[/name_u] are good suggestions. Maybe you’d also like…

I seriously read this and thought you actually meant embroidery . . . and then my common sense kicked in and enlightened me. It’s a past-time, not a name, I really can’t see it working. [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Bridie[/name_f], [name_u]Ellery[/name_u], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f], Berengaria, [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Bryony[/name_f], [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f], or [name_f]Ebony[/name_f] might appeal.
I also thought you meant literal embroidery. This really doesn’t work for me. Sorry.
Yes, unfortunately, its way too funky for me.
Sorry to contribute to the "no"s here but…no. It’s not just that it’s too “out there,” but it also bothers me because it’s a skill that has historically been closely associated with the subjugation of women. Historical literature has a lot of references to men saying that women should stay home and “stick to embroidery” rather than advancing in society. There’s nothing wrong with the hobby of course, but is has questionable historical connotations that might send the wrong message. I don’t think it’s wearable as a name, sorry :(.
The rest of the names in your signature are lovely though!
On the basis that my thought was ‘there’s no way they mean Embroidery as a name, it must be something to do with personalised gifts’ I think I’m going to say no. Sorry.
It’s got a nice sound, but that’s not a good enough reason to use it as a name in my opinion. I love the sound of the word Therapy - absolutely not a usable name for anyone or anything! Therapy does have less good connotations than Embroidery, but still no.
Embroidery is not a name in my opinion. I have no problem with word names, but some words were not meant to be names. Would you name a child Knitting or Sewing? Also, [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] is very masculine. I would a assume a [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] was a boy.
Definitely too much! Although [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] could be a cute nickname for a little boy or girl.
Might it be too much? Maybe. But so are so many names that berries love on here ([name_f]Elisabetta[/name_f], [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f], and [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]). I’m not a fan but tons of word names have been used as names. Also times are changing. No one expects an [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Jr[/name_m] called [name_m]Jack[/name_m] anymore (but please use them if they are your style.) [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] would also be a cute nickname. Like I said, maybe a bit much but I think it has potential. If you love it please use it, even just as a middle. Embroidery [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is very cute.
Another no, here. I wouldn’t appreciate being named that all and I can’t imagine anyone would.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] going to add another emphatic no, for the same reasons others have already said.
Another no from me
Thoughts on Embroidery ?
Personally, I prefer knitting! LOL
Please don’t do this to a child.
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] is very popular, so why not [name_f]Emberly[/name_f] or [name_f]Emberlee[/name_f]?
Absurd as a name.
Thanks gummybear0724 !

I have to agree with the 'no’s I’m afraid. I do like [name_f]Emerald[/name_f] though. Does that appeal? I think [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] is good for a girl on its own, not as a nickname. I’ve known as many girl as boy Brodies, and it has always seemed more girly to me.
