Thoughts on Eowyn?

I am still searching for names. I keep coming back to [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f]. I love the sound and the meaning of it. Have you ever met an [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f]?

What do you think of [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f]? Can you picture it on a little girl? I know it’s a short name, but what could be a cute nickname for it? I’ve got [name_u]Wyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Wynnie[/name_f].

Edit: we have a daughter named Elowen. Do you think Eowyn is too close to it? We had a similar situation with Aria and Briar, they are similar but Briar goes by Bree. Would the Aowyn spelling make any difference? Our Elowen goes by Ella

While I think it’s a stunning name, it’s way too close to [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] in my opinion.
Aowyn helps differentiate them a bit, but it looks awkward and harder to pronounce.

I agree with previous poster that it’s beautiful, but definitely too close to [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].
I also think Aowyn is too close.

I think most people with associate [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] with the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the rings character, but it’s not a bad thing to be associated with though, but it’s something to consider.

I agree with the previous poster.
Some names that sound kind of similar are [name_f]Eloysia[/name_f] (I’d use [name_f]Aloisia[/name_f] though, so it’s not as close to [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]) and [name_f]Nolwen[/name_f]/[name_f]Anwen[/name_f] (could be [name_u]Wyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Wynnie[/name_f])

Your daughters’ names are so beautiful. Whilst I love [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] though I do think it is too similar to [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] (I see them as variations of the same name, in a way.)

[name_m]How[/name_m] about Eirwyn/Eirwen? Pronounced eye-r-wyn/wen. Similar to [name_f]Eowyn[/name_f] but not too close to [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].

This is a name I think is lovely
However I agree they are just really really close
