I have recently started loving [name_f]Essie[/name_f] I find it is super sweet. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it has to be a nickname? Could it standalone? Otherwise, what are some nickname options? I like [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Estella[/name_f] - but they dont feel right for me and I dont love them. I think I really like [name_f]Nessa[/name_f], which would be a serious a contender for me, but unsure of gneral thoughts on the name?
So, what do you think of [name_f]Essie[/name_f] and [name_f]Nessa[/name_f]? Also, any other suggestions that have [name_f]Essie[/name_f] as a nickname would be appreciated! Thanks!
[name_f]Essie[/name_f] is really sweet! It feels friendly and down-to-earth but is still fresh and unique. I like it more than [name_f]Nessa[/name_f], which does feel a bit dated to me because of its similarity to [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Essie[/name_f] can work on its own! If [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Evie[/name_f] can, why not [name_f]Essie[/name_f]?

I love Essie - sweet, simple, gentle, with a bit of sass too.
I think it could be a stand alone Like Emmy, Evie, Tess etc.
Nessa is warm and fun - I feel like I’ve met a ‘just’ Nessa

I like [name_f]Essie[/name_f] a lot. Only thing that bugs me is that it is the name of a nail polish brand.

[name_f]Essie[/name_f] is sweet! I don’t love it on its own, but I do like it as a nn, and came across a little Essie-Joy a while back and I love it as a double barrel with [name_f]Joy[/name_f]! If I were to use it as a nn, the full name I’d use is probably [name_f]Esther[/name_f], but I also love [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. [name_m]Or[/name_m], Essie-Joy. I really love Essie-Joy!

I love love love this name! It’s the name of one of my characters (short for Estiar, though, which is Dwarvish and therefore unlikely to be useful to you). It could be short for most names starting with S, I think, in a stretchy way–I especially like [name_f]Serafina[/name_f] for some reason.

[name_f]Nessa[/name_f] isn’t half bad, but I do prefer [name_f]Essie[/name_f], which is a very sweet name!
It could probably stand on its own, à la [name_f]Evie[/name_f] / [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite full name would be [name_f]Esther[/name_f], but chances are you’ve already considered it. [name_f]Esperance[/name_f] would also make a striking choice, and I don’t think [name_f]Estefania[/name_f] has been mentioned yet?

Thank you everybody! I think personally I would feel best about [name_f]Essie[/name_f] as a nickname.
I do still really like [name_f]Nessa[/name_f]. I do like the suggestion of [name_f]Inessa[/name_f], still feeling it out to see if I would prefer it over [name_f]Nessa[/name_f]. And I also really liked the suggestion of [name_f]Serafina[/name_f]!
