A pregnant friend of mine is expecting a baby boy and is considering the name [name_m]Ezran[/name_m]. She heard it in a novel and likes it way better than [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] and it has a much more unique sound. She’s having a few doubts on if it sounds to made up or people will call him [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] accidentally all the time. What do you think about the name?
I LOVE the sound of [name_m]Ezran[/name_m]! [name_m]Just[/name_m] out of curiosity, did your friend hear the name in Dragon Prince??
I only know it from there, I love that show!
I think it could be heard as [name_u]Ezra[/name_u], but a simple correction would probably solve that quickly, especially with all the n ending boy names.
Example: [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], etc
I love [name_u]Ezra[/name_u], but I’m not a fan of [name_m]Ezran[/name_m] at all. I like [name_u]Ezri[/name_u], though, as an alternative. But, I am just one person, and it’s not my baby. I don’t see any problem with it, just not my cup of tea.
[name_m]Ezran[/name_m] is a good choice, especially since there seem to be more girl Ezras than boys. Either way, he’ll be called Ezzy for a nickname, so go with [name_m]Ezran[/name_m]!
This is probably just me (looks like it, from the other replies!) but my immediate thought was that it sounds like [name_m]Tarzan[/name_m] If it wasn’t for that, I’d say it’s a cool choice! Is it a real name that happened to be in the novel, or was it made up for the novel? I usually advise against directly naming kids after characters where the name is just theirs, because you never know what might happen (you may stop liking that media, the author might end up being a bad person, the character might become a bad person in a sequel, etc) but if it’s not just from the novel then it’s all good!
