Thoughts on Fawn?

I love [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]! Its very cute but I think it will still age well since its short and to the point. I also like [name_f]Fawna[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]

I don’t like [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] as a first name because I really can’t get over it meaning a baby deer, but I like it as a last name and considered it for one of my story characters once. However another name ended up getting the role in the end.

I think the name [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] is lovely! It’s a beautiful nature name that everyone knows of and yet isn’t popular at all. To me, the two most important things in a name is the way it sounds and what the name brings to mind. [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] definitely passes both of these categories. A humble yet outstanding name.

I’ve always liked the word, the meaning and the name. I recommend it to any parents who are looking for a soft, simple nature name that’s more unusual than [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and not as cutesy.

Thanks for all the responses everyone! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] to see that [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]'s getting mostly positive reviews. My husband’s vetoed it so I’m going to add it to my GP list for now but you never know, he changes his opinion on names all the time.

I can’t imagine [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] on a real person. It might be cute on a toddler, but anything older than that…well, I’ll be honest and say it sounds like a stripper-name to me. External beauty, but devoid of common sense. [name_f]Fauna[/name_f] would be more substantial and age better, too, IMHO.

I think any of the names in your signature would be far more wearable lifelong. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] are my favorites. HTH

I actually know of an adult [name_f]Fawn[/name_f].
She worked at my company.
She was a cute, punk-chick with purple hair. Very artsy!

I think it’s got more middle name potential, personally, but it’s not impossible on a real person.

My husband and I loved the name so much that we named one of our twin daughters [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] this past [name_u]November[/name_u]. To me it is sweet, spunky, woodsy, and artsy which is what I hope my daughter will be some day. We also wanted something that wasn’t popular–only 19 girls were named [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] in 2014. (in 1981, 206 baby girls were given the name.)

As far as it not aging well, I disagree. The only two people named [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] that I have met are adults–awesome ones, at that. I will say that I initially didn’t like the name when my husband suggested it after only 4 months of dating, 11 years ago. But as we did outdoorsy things, and he talked about his vision of a little girl named [name_f]Fawn[/name_f], it grew on me. And now that there is a fairy with the name, even better! I always wished I could talk to animals! I liked the name [name_f]Fern[/name_f] when I was little, but [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] sounds better. It is softer and sturdier, in my opinion. Besides, baby deer are cuter than ferns.

If you love a name use it. ([name_f]Fawn[/name_f]'s twin is [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], btw.)

I have been [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] for almost 48 years and love it. [name_f]My[/name_f] middle name is Phillene (Faline is Bambi’s girlfriends name). Clearly, my parents had a theme

I personally prefer [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] as a middle, but I think it’s great! Similar vibe with [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
