Thoughts on Fawn?

So I’ve always been neutral on [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] as a name but lately my toddler has been watching the movie The [name_u]Legend[/name_u] of the Neverbeast almost daily and the name is starting to grow on me (it’s the name of the main character, for those who don’t have fairy obsessed toddlers). I’m considering adding it to my list but was curious about what others thought about the name.

I love [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]! And I also got it from a Tinkerbell movie! It used to be on my signature, and is still on my long list. I think its a very cute name, I would definitely consider it as a middle, maybe a first. But I think if [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is a good name, then why not [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]? I like the nature and animal names, and [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] would make for an adorable girl.

I love [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]! It makes me think of fairies, lush forests, and woodland creatures. So pretty! I like it as both a first and middle name.

I think it’s so cute! I first heard it from tinker bell too. Lol

It makes me think of a baby deer, and the colour. Neither like nor dislike. I find it interesting.

[name_f]Fawn[/name_f]'s grown on me a lot lately. It’s definitely better ([name_f]IMO[/name_f]) than [name_m]Fox[/name_m], [name_m]Bear[/name_m], or some of the other animal names being used nowadays.

It’s just okay [name_f]IMO[/name_f] as I’m not sure how well it would wear on some adults. It may come across as hippyish on an adult and that may not suit her.

Disney meets stripper.

You know she’s going to grow up, right?

I would prefer it if it were only the animal, but I think of the colour with the [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] spelling - [name_f]Faun[/name_f] would be my choice, but for a boy. I imagine little horned babies with hairy trousers and hooves, but it’s quite endearing.

I am familiar with the tinkerbelle movies, but I don’t associate the name with it.
My family doctor, her first name is [name_f]Fawn[/name_f].
It may seem new-age naturery type name, but it’s really more retro than anything,
It was semi-popular in the 60s
To me it fits right next to [name_f]Fern[/name_f] and [name_f]Faline[/name_f].
I still prefer [name_f]Fern[/name_f] to [name_f]Fawn[/name_f], but I too find it endearing.

I really love it! I think its adorable! A woman on instagram has a daughter named [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f]-F@wn.

I like the idea behind [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] but I can’t get behind using it except as a middle. I like [name_f]Fern[/name_f] much better–has a similar sound and nature connection but seems so much wearable on an adult.

I think it would go best in the middle. I’m trying to imagine an adult going by [name_f]Fawn[/name_f], and just can’t picture it.

[name_f]Susan[/name_f]

I think it’s very pretty, and a bit daring. My only hang up is that I can’t really imagine it on a grown woman. I can see it on a kid or a teenager, but not so much an adult. [name_m]Even[/name_m] so, I don’t think it’s a bad choice.

I know a couple of adults named [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] and they wear it well, so why not [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]? [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] is so sweet sounding, but personally i prefer [name_f]Fauna[/name_f]

My husband and I loved the name so much that we named one of our twin daughters [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] this past [name_u]November[/name_u]. To me it is sweet, spunky, woodsy, and artsy which is what I hope my daughter will be some day. We also wanted something that wasn’t popular–only 19 girls were named [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] in 2014. (in 1981, 206 baby girls were given the name.)

As far as it not aging well, I disagree. The only two people named [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] that I have met are adults–awesome ones, at that. I will say that I initially didn’t like the name when my husband suggested it after only 4 months of dating, 11 years ago. But as we did outdoorsy things, and he talked about his vision of a little girl named [name_f]Fawn[/name_f], it grew on me. And now that there is a fairy with the name, even better! I always wished I could talk to animals! I liked the name [name_f]Fern[/name_f] when I was little, but [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] sounds better. It is softer and sturdier, in my opinion. Besides, baby deer are cuter than ferns.

If you love a name use it. ([name_f]Fawn[/name_f]'s twin is [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], btw.)

Fawns are weak and helpless, not how I’d want my child to be perceived…for life.

I love nature names. My son’s middle name is [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] and most of the names on my list for baby due in [name_u]November[/name_u] are nature names. I never really considered [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] though. It’s not my favorite, but I definitely like it. It’s one of those names that would be easier for people to accept once they meet somebody with the name.

I really like it!
