Thoughts on flower-flower names?

for example is [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

I actually like them. I know a lot of people on NB don’t, but I do :woman_shrugging:t5:

I agree with @anon68906791. They’re also wordy.

I’m not a huge fan of multiple word names together, as it either seems repetitive or descriptive (I wouldn’t do [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] either?), but if someone else wants to, I have nothing against it? I just don’t like it for myself. I had a berry friend once who used [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] which I think is super lovely, and the double floral choice isn’t super obvious? Ironically she went on to have a [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] too lol.

So currently I am considering [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] that is a very floral inspired choice. I personally love flower names and I don’t see the issue with have a double flower choice. I do prefer when the flowers aren’t so obvious if that makes sense for example [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

It depends on the name for me. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is so overused as a middle that it doesn’t bother me. Less common flowers ([name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], for example) is also fine. So [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would both be fine but [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is too much.

I agree with @lucyxo :point_up_2:

Flower names that are either very traditional ([name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f]) or very uncommon and perhaps not widely known ([name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], [name_f]Aster[/name_f], [name_u]Lupin[/name_u]) work fine with another floral choice, as I hear “NAME” before I hear “FLOWER”.

But middle-of-the-road, recognisably botanical names like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] make me think “FLOWER” first, so they don’t work as well for me.

I think it really depends on the name for me. I do love flower names, so I like seeing them! I agree with @tori101; it’s more appealing when both names don’t scream floral.

I think they’re fine if you’re going with two more common names, such as [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], etc. If you used two unusual floral names though, ie [name_u]Hyacinth[/name_u] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], then I think that’s a bit much.

I like them, Especially any flower name with [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] (not [name_f]Lily[/name_f]), or [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] in the middle. Actually, I’m pretty picky about what flower names I like. [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lillie[/name_f], and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] are great and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] are fine. I love [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Lillie[/name_f]… and so on.

For me personally, I’m not big on flower names unless it’s a more unusual one; for instance, no [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] or any variations of those. Names I would like though are [name_u]Larkspur[/name_u], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] to name a few. [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is one of those common-but-also-uncommon names that I’m fine with as well.

I love flower names and in general love fairy like names for little girls, but certain combos tend to be too sweet (if that makes any sense) In general I stray from flower combos as that doesn’t seem appealing to me but if I met a [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] or [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] I would think it was sweet! Certain flower names seem to girlish and [name_f]Princess[/name_f] like and while others like that I personally wouldn’t want a [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Daffodil[/name_f] or [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] (as those sound more like pony kiddie names than actual names)

I think they’re cute! Anything with [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] are probably my favorite, as they are less common but not weird.

It’s a big no for me. I think one flower name is pretty and two is pretty much automatically cutesy.

I think some flower names -like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] -feel very namey so they work

Maybe something like [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] (daisy in [name_u]French[/name_u]) [name_f]Orchid[/name_f].

Way too cutesy for my liking.

Not a fan personally. It’s too much.

Personally not a fan but I like most flower names.

I don’t mind flower-flower names, as long as one of the names is less common. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] feels a bit over done to me, but something like [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds really pretty.
