[name_f]Frances[/name_f] was my grandmothers name and I would love to use it. What do you think of this name and Would you use a nickname for it?
Frances is so sweet and underrated! (Maybe [name_m]Chess[/name_m] as a nn? Maybe it’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s cute.) think it’s short enough that it doesn’t need a nickname; nicknames can come from events/experiences, so they don’t have to come from the name itself.
It’s on my list. I’d call her [name_f]Annie[/name_f] personally but I am obsessed with getting to [name_f]Annie[/name_f] as a nickname.
I love [name_f]Frances[/name_f]! I would use the nickname [name_f]Francie[/name_f], which I think is perfectly sweet and spunky. I don’t think it needs a nickname, though.
I like [name_f]Frances[/name_f], especially with [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] as a nickname.
I don’t really like it, sorry. It just feels too dated. It could be a good middle name!
I think it’s wonderful and totally underated. Despite knowing a few in their 70s, I find it totally fresh. The older ones seem to go by [name_u]Fran[/name_u]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] or even [name_f]Franny[/name_f] as a nn!
Frances is great! I’d more than likely use spunky [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] as a nickname
I love it! It’s elegant with a vintage glamour. As a nn I would use [name_f]Francie[/name_f].
I adore [name_f]Frances[/name_f], it’s a long time favourite of mine. I don’t think it needs a nickname, but I am partial to [name_u]Frankie[/name_u].
Okay um [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is like one of my favourite names and since it’s your grandma’s name you should probably use it! [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_u]Frannie[/name_u] are my fav nicknames but the fn is 2 syllables so I’ll just go with a nickname name or, well, just [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
=)
I really have started to like the name Fråncēs lately! It’s a family name for me (however, it does not belong to a relative I have any interest in honoring, quite the opposite, so I can’t ever use it). I will say the relative goes by their middle name exclusively.
I do know a Fråncēs who goes by their given name. Doesn’t use a nickname, and honestly, I like it best that way— I’m personally not crazy about any of the intuitive nicknames for it and think it stands on its own really well.
Frances is smart and sturdy while also being pretty. I like the nn [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] or [name_f]Essie[/name_f]
I dislike it, sounds rather frumpy. I adore [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], so that’d be my nickname pick.
I like it. [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and [name_f]Fancy[/name_f]/Fancie are my favourite nicknames. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] O’[name_u]Connor[/name_u] is a favourite actress of mine, and the character [name_f]Fancy[/name_f] [name_u]Day[/name_u] from Under the Greenwood Tree is one of my favourite [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Hardy[/name_m] characters.
I love [name_f]Frances[/name_f]! It’s sweet and vintage, but also strong and fun. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite nickname for it would be [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], but I just love the name [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]!
I don’t love it. It reminds me of a stern older lady (probably because of a woman I knew with this name as a child). I prefer [name_f]Francine[/name_f] or [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] myself. But I think [name_f]Frances[/name_f] would sound fresh on a young person. Nicknames could be [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], [name_f]Franny[/name_f] or [name_f]Francie[/name_f].
Beautiful name! [name_f]May[/name_f] I also suggest [name_f]Francine[/name_f]? It’s more modern & fresh while still honors her.
I love [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. I even like it over all of the other similar options [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] or [name_f]Francine[/name_f]. I just watched the movie [name_f]Frances[/name_f] Ha. I have [name_f]Frances[/name_f] on my list it’s so classy.
Frances is strong and classic. I love the cute, spunky [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] for short!
