Thoughts on Freya

I’m curious to know what the nameberries think of ‘Freya’. It’s a name I’ve heard here and there in the UK but never really taken in, however I heard it today and really said it back to myself and thought, how have I never noticed how lovely this is before?!

It seems strong and rugged but also manages to be girly too, without being frilly. Interesting mix…thoughts? What image does it give you?

Wonderful name! Strongly associated with the goddess to me. I get the imagery of enchanted forest and a sorceress.

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] is sweet but super popular in my small town ( Canada) . We had 3 in our play group

From looking into it I have heard that it’s popular, which I don’t mind too much as long as I love it. When I think about it though I only know OF two Freya’s (friends of friends) and none personally

I know what you mean, I think the middle name could make it. Out of my middle name choices I think the one I would choose would be [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] (family name).

Yes, strong and rugged and feminine but not frilly. [name_m]Just[/name_m] right!

I love love love [name_f]Freya[/name_f] :yellow_heart:

I can’t use her unfortunately, but if I could, I would in a heartbeat!

Yes, love it! Reminds me of pinks and reds and greens… hearty name and very pretty, but also unique! I’d love to name a daughter Freya.

This is the perfect description of Freya!!

It’s a lovely name - soft but strong at the same time. Familiar but not too overused

I feel like it could end up being the next [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]? But I can’t put my finger on why?

I don’t know a [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. I’ve never heard the name spoken aloud by anyone except myself when I say it aloud. That said, I feel like it’s one of those names that the more you say it, the more you like it? I can’t think of any other name that sounds similar to [name_f]Freya[/name_f], and I’ve never seen any other way to spell it, both which are perks in my book. Someone above said its strong and rugged, but pretty and feminine, which I think hits the nail on the head.

So I think if it’s a name you love, go for it! With the right middle it could be awesome.

Very beautiful in my opinion though super trendy, (Depends how much that bothers you) the name is really cool and bada*s.

I’m the odd one out. It’s not my style…

I love [name_f]Freya[/name_f]! Its strong and feminine. I live in the US and have never met or heard of a [name_f]Freya[/name_f].

I totally agree with your description of [name_f]Freya[/name_f]. It’s strong and beautiful but not at all frilly. For me, it evokes images of an intelligent, possibly somewhat artistic girl, someone who’s talented musically or who paints or who is intellectually rigorous. It’s a ‘smart’ name to me, if that makes sense.

It’s a name I once upon a time didn’t love until all of a sudden, not long after my partner brought it up when we were pregnant with my daughter, I realised how lovely it is (I guess similarly to you).

Now it’s one of my top choices for a hypothetical second daughter!

I have been LOVING it for the past few weeks. Never thought about it much until someone I know had a daughter they named [name_f]Freya[/name_f] a couple months ago. [name_u]An[/name_u] underused beauty here in the states.

I love [name_f]Freya[/name_f], it reminds me of a Norse goddess, who is strong willed and a warrior, yet sweet. I’ve met one [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and I think it’s starting to become more popular.
