When I first heard of [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] I was a little unconvinced, but I have seen it pop up a few times here and there now, and it is growing on me little by little.
So my question is: what do y’all think of it? Is it cute? Dated? Boring? Adorable?
All thoughts and ideas welcome!
If you have middle name ideas, feel free to say so
Hmmm. It isn’t my favorite name, but mostly because I don’t much care for -ette names that being said, I can’t see much wrong with this name. I think it can rather easily fall into the category of vintage/underused girl names that are making a comeback, so I don’t think it would be out of place! In fact, in a sea of [name_u]Madison[/name_u]'s and [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f]'s, I’d love to see a little [name_f]Georgette[/name_f]! It’d be really refreshing to hear on the playground. I think it is sophisticated, southern, and definitely not boring!
I can’t think of any middle name suggestions, but just thought I’d give my 2 cents on the rest
I really like it and it seems like a fresh yet vintage alternative to all the other [name_m]George[/name_m] names (which I also like) and Ette ending names (I love names ending in ette!) and has lots of nickname possibilities if you like that? E.g [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_u]Georgie[/name_u], [name_f]Etta[/name_f], [name_f]Ettie[/name_f]
In terms of middle names I think it needs something a little softer sounding like…
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] Aluna
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] ([name_f]Lu[/name_f]-see-ah)
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
And thanks everyone for your thoughts. It is really helpful. I find myself a little on the fence of cute, but vintage with this name… hmm… something to think about.
[name_f]Georgette[/name_f] has a vintage, old-fashioned, clunky-chic vibe to me. Names with such strong consonant sounds aren’t usually my thing, but it’s definitely wearable, it doesn’t feel too dated to use today. It reminds me of the early 20th century romance and mystery novelist [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] Heyer (born 1902).
