I love the nickname [name_u]Harry[/name_u] but I’m not a fan of [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], and I don’t see how [name_u]Harry[/name_u] can be a nickname for [name_m]Henry[/name_m] because they don’t sound too similar. What are your thoughts on the name?
Harold’s a solid name.
to me [name_m]Harold[/name_m] is to old-fashioned if you love it go for it but I wouldn’t use it
Harold is a little too old-fashioned, though it could make a darling middle name.
Other names that give you [name_u]Harry[/name_u] are:
[name_m]Herschel[/name_m]/Hershel
[name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_u]Harry[/name_u]
[name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]
[name_m]Hart[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
I don’t fancy [name_m]Harold[/name_m] that much, feels a bit out of date. Maybe [name_u]Harley[/name_u]? [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_u]Harry[/name_u]? [name_u]Harland[/name_u]? Honestly [name_u]Harry[/name_u] could be a nickname for [name_m]Henry[/name_m] if you really wanted- it’s based on what you guys call him! : )
My grandad was called [name_m]Harold[/name_m] and my brother was named [name_u]Harry[/name_u] after him, so [name_u]Harry[/name_u] as a nickname definitely works! [name_f]My[/name_f] grandmother ([name_m]Harold[/name_m]’s wife) also had a brother called [name_m]Harold[/name_m], and he went by [name_m]Hal[/name_m], so that could be another nickname to consider if you think people may assume that the full name is [name_u]Harry[/name_u]. I have honestly not known a [name_u]Harry[/name_u]/Harold being nicknamed [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], so I don’t think it would be a problem.
I really like [name_m]Harold[/name_m]. It doesn’t sound out of date in a stiff kind of [name_m]Montague[/name_m], [name_m]Percival[/name_m], way; but in a cute [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] kind of way. Not overly popular currently, but no good reason for it not to be. Definitely usable.
Harold is okay, a bit heavy for me but not bad
Harold feels dated to me, but there’s nothing “wrong” with it. It’s not popular nowadays, which might appeal to you if you’re looking for an unusual name.
Love nn Hal
Harry works too as a nn, but most people will assume its short for Harrison
Harold is great!
Aw so cute! Reminds me of [name_m]Harold[/name_m] and the purple crayon.
It’s really cute and hipster-y. [name_f]Greta[/name_f] Gerwig and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] Baumbach have a baby [name_m]Harold[/name_m].
