I think [name_f]Heather[/name_f] is an underused nature choice that deserves some more love. I think she’s a lovely warm inviting name with great imagery. I can appreciate that some may find [name_f]Heather[/name_f] dated but personally I don’t as a result of the lovely imagery attached to the name.
I agree! @tori101 It’s a pretty name!
Hearher is sweet. I get imagery of vast moors and grassy hills
I don’t think it’s too tied to the lovely song. However I did know a [name_f]Heather[/name_f] in high school that didn’t leave a refreshing image in my mind. Though I think it’s a surprisingly underused name and could be lovely.
Heather is stunning! I’ve always had a soft spot for it It’s so underused nowadays too, it’d be so refreshing if I met a little [name_f]Heather[/name_f] at work (I work with children)!
I think [name_f]Heather[/name_f] is definitely ready for a revival. It gives me images of isolated moors and hills
I like [name_f]Heather[/name_f]. It’s a sweet nature name. I think of the lovely purple colour that comes from heather. Yes, it may be underused or “dated,” but if you were to use it, then your daughter would have a beautiful, special and unique name amongst her friends.
I love [name_f]Heather[/name_f]!!!
It’s absolutely adorable.
I don’t think it’s tied to the song at all, if anything there’s more an associations with the movie and musical Heathers.
But even with all these associations (I am a massive fan of the musical) it stills evokes images of misty moores and stormy nights over any slushie-filled 80s movie for me!
I love Heather! I think its breathy sound and natural meaning (I think of heather covered moors) are very appealing.
That being said, it is dated. I don’t know the song, but I am familiar with the movie (while not my favorite movie, it is a concrete example of Heather being seen as a stereotypical eighties name).
I love Heather despite its datedness! I think it’s ready for a revival. I met a young girl with this name 7 or 8 years ago and thought it was very sweet on her.
I think Heather is pretty. There aren’t many other names that have the soft “th” sound, which makes it rather unique. I like the botanical origin, and the movie Heathers is a nice connection too. I only know two Heathers, so it doesn’t seem overly dated or frumpy to me.
Im not familiar with the song, but this is,one of,those names that feels dated to me (along with Kimberly, Stephanie, Ashley, and Felicia), from names that were super popular during my childhood [late 80s, early 90s].
I prefer Holly to Heather, personally.
I like Heather! It is definitely an 80’s name but I feel with all these nature names rising in popularity it’s an undiscovered gem. And besides I like it’s soft, whispery sound and it definitely would be refreshing to meet a little baby Heather
I really like it. It has a soft sound, perfect for a floral name. It’s a bit dated, but I see nothing wrong with that, it only means she’ll have a more unique name.
[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Heather[/name_f] and I would be thrilled to meet a baby named Heather! I think it’s underrated. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it’s dated, it’s ready to be used again ;). [name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Heather[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
I love Heather! Defo underrated & deserving of a revival
It’s wispy, yet substantial The wild, misty moors of Scotland, giant craggy rocks, and an enchantingly headstrong woman springs to mind! The 80s/90s vibe pales in comparison.
[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Heather[/name_f]. I am about 62% Celtic so this names suits me. It’s delicate and feminine. It’s a wild flower and I am definitely a free spirit. I don’t care if it seems dated, it’s not relevant. [name_f]Emma[/name_f], a beautiful name, will also seem dated in 30 years.
Thanks!!!
